BlitzWolf BW-V5 Air is a Google TV projector for 120 € from an EU warehouse: Native Full HD, licensed Netflix, and Widevine L1

There are plenty of cheap projectors on the market, but most of them have the same problem — you can’t run Netflix, Disney+ or HBO Max on them in proper quality because they lack a license. BlitzWolf BW-V5 Air takes a different route: it has Google TV certification, officially licensed Netflix and Widevine DRM L1, so the streams run in full resolution instead of the fallback 480p. Plus native Full HD, automatic focus and image correction, and a weight of 1.35 kg.

Native Full HD and a realistic take on brightness

The display chip is an LCD with native resolution 1920 × 1080 — so no upscaled HD like you’ll find on the competition at this price point. The projector also accepts a 4K signal and supports HDR10+, although it will of course project it in Full HD. The optics are made by a three-element glass lens with a throw ratio of 1.25, so for a 100-inch image you’ll need roughly 2.8 meters.

Be realistic about brightness. The manufacturer lists 480 ANSI lumens from an LED source with a 50,000-hour lifespan, but independent measurements for projectors in this class usually come out lower — and the marketing “max 180 inches” also doesn’t hold up. The manufacturer itself recommends a screen size of 40 to 120 inches. In a dark room or in the evening on the terrace, it’s a great machine, but for projecting in a brightly lit living room at midday, you’d be better off buying a TV.

Google TV built-in, Netflix with a license and one HDMI

The software runs on certified Google TV with access to Google Play, so you can launch Netflix, YouTube, Disney+ and Prime Video directly from the projector without connecting an external box. Thanks to Widevine DRM L1, the apps deliver full-resolution video — this is exactly what cheaper, unlicensed projectors fail at. Voice search via the remote also works: “Hey Google”.

Connectivity is handled by dual-band Wi‑Fi 5 (2.4 and 5 GHz) and Bluetooth, which you can use to pair a speaker or headphones. But there aren’t many physical ports — one HDMI, one USB and a 3.5 mm jack. If you plan to keep a gaming console and a set-top box permanently connected, be prepared for a switch. The remote combines infrared and Bluetooth transmission, so you can control the projector even without aiming directly at it.

It focuses by itself, aligns by itself, and closes the lens cover by itself

Setup is the part where cheap projectors tend to be the most annoying, and the BW-V5 Air handles it pretty well. Focusing is electrical with automation; the projector corrects trapezoid distortion automatically along the vertical axis, and it also offers four-point electronic corner correction. So you can place it off-center from the screen and still get a properly rectangular image.

A nice detail is the automatic lens cover that closes when you turn it off, protecting the optics from dust — and for a portable projector that travels in a backpack, that matters. The body measures 232 × 205 × 90 mm and weighs 1.35 kg. The fan noise level is listed by the manufacturer at 40 dB, which is typical for this class. There’s no built-in battery, so you always need a power outlet, and in the box you’ll also find an HDMI cable with a remote control.
