Na slovenský a český automobilový trh prichádza nový silný hráč. Spoločnosť BYD, jeden z najväčších svetových producentov elektrických vozidiel, oficiálne expanduje do strednej Európy. Podľa dostupných informácií plánuje uviesť hneď niekoľko modelov – konkrétne dva elektromobily a jedno plug-in hybridné vozidlo.

BYD – leader in electrified vehicles
Automobilka BYD (Build Your Dreams) si minulý rok vyslúžila titul najväčšieho výrobcu plug-in hybridov a druhého najväčšieho producenta čisto elektrických áut na svete. Jej široké portfólio vozidiel zahŕňa elektromobily aj plug-in hybridy, čo ju radí medzi najvýznamnejších hráčov v segmente elektromobility.
Quiet start in Slovakia?
Zatiaľ čo český trh už BYD verejne predstavuje, slovenský vstup zatiaľ prebieha pomerne nenápadne. Podľa správ z tlačovej konferencie, na ktorú sa odvoláva agentúra ČTK, sa očakáva, že značka sa čoskoro zviditeľní aj u nás. Navyše sa objavila aj prvá televízna reklama zameraná na slovenské publikum.
As stated by the portal teslamagazin.sk, the expansion of the BYD brand to Slovakia is also supported by a job listing for a car salesman position for this brand, published by Auto – Impex. This company has several well-known automotive brands in its portfolio and plans to represent BYD in Bratislava. It’s expected that the main showrooms and service centers will be created mainly in the capital, while BYD plans to expand its network to around 20 sales and service locations across Slovakia.
Models heading to our market
V ponuke pre Slovensko a Česko budú podľa predbežných informácií tri vozidlá strednej triedy – dva elektromobily a jeden plug-in hybrid. Konkrétne ide o SUV BYD Sealion 7, sedan BYD Seal a hybridné SUV BYD Seal U DM-i.
BYD Sealion 7: This electric SUV offers dimensions of 4,830 x 1,925 x 1,620 mm with a 2,930 mm wheelbase. Customers will be able to choose between versions with rear-axle drive (RWD) or all four wheels (AWD). Output ranges from 230 to 390 kW, with torque up to 690 Nm, and the 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is handled in 4.5 to 6.7 seconds. The battery capacity is 82.5 or 91.3 kWh, enabling a range of up to 502 km (WLTP). Fast charging from 10 to 80% takes only 24 to 32 minutes.
BYD Seal: This elegant sedan measures 4,800 x 1,875 x 1,460 mm with a 2,920 mm wheelbase. It likewise offers both RWD and AWD versions with power up to 390 kW. 0 to 100 km/h acceleration reaches just 3.8 seconds in the top version. Thanks to a battery with a capacity of 80 or 82 kWh, it can travel up to 570 km (WLTP) on a single charge. Charging from 30 to 80% takes about 26 minutes.
BYD Seal U DM-i: The plug-in hybrid version of the SUV combines the benefits of electric driving with the flexibility of an internal combustion engine. It’s an ideal solution for those who want to switch to electric power, but don’t want to be limited by the availability of charging stations.
Price tags and availability
Even though official prices for the Slovak market are not known yet, based on the portal autobazar.eu we can get a rough idea. They should range from approximately €44,990 to €61,990 depending on the model and equipment.
