Design, comfort, and first impressions
The EarFun Air Pro 4+ earbuds build on the success of previous generations, and right away it’s clear that the manufacturer has stuck with a proven design. It doesn’t change drastically, but it comes with subtle updates that have a big practical impact. The biggest change is the new, more oval silicone tips, replacing the older round ones. Those were the frequent targets of criticism in earlier models.
In practice, you can feel the difference. You still notice the earbuds in your ears, but they’re much more natural to wear and less tiring even during longer use. That makes them an ideal companion for work, commuting, or even evening listening before bed. Plus, thanks to the IP55 certification, they can handle sports and mildly adverse conditions as well.
Another big plus is battery life. With ANC on, it’s around 10 hours, which is excellent for this price range. Without ANC, you can get up to approximately 12 hours. The charging case then adds another 4 full charges, meaning that overall you get several days without needing a power outlet.
Features, connectivity, and the app
One of the biggest strengths of these earbuds is their feature set. In the under €100 price range, it’s an exceptionally packed bundle of functions that often beats even more expensive competitors. Supported codecs include LDAC and aptX Lossless, which especially advanced listeners on Android devices will appreciate.
Multipoint connectivity works reliably, so you can be connected to, for example, your laptop and phone at the same time. Switching between devices is smooth and intuitive. The presence of Auracast is more of a bonus for the future, but it’s still an interesting feature for public broadcasts or sharing audio.
The EarFun Audio app offers a wide range of setting options. From the equalizer to ANC modes, all the way to detailed control customization. You can practically set everything the way you like—still more of an exception than a rule at this price point.
A minor downside is stability when using the LDAC codec together with multipoint. In that case, dropouts may occur, so for everyday use it’s better to stick with AAC or aptX.
Sound quality and music experience
This is where the real strength of the EarFun Air Pro 4+ model comes in. The sound is simply excellent and, for the price, it belongs to the absolute top tier. The earbuds use a dual driver setup—dynamic for the lows and an armature for the highs—which delivers a very balanced and dynamic presentation.
The sound signature is rather warmer, with emphasis on bass and midrange. The bass is deep, precise, and has excellent punch. At the same time, it doesn’t overpower the other frequencies. The mids are full, and vocals sound natural and enjoyable.
The treble is slightly reduced, meaning the sound isn’t harsh even at higher volume. On the other hand, fans of extremely detailed playback may notice a mild lack of sparkle in the highest frequencies.
Overall, though, you get a very balanced sound that works well across various genres— from pop to electronic to rock. The dynamics and instrument separation are at a high level, making listening genuinely fun.
ANC, calls and real-world use
Active noise cancelling is rather the weaker side. While it can do a good job removing constant sounds like air conditioning, it falls behind the competition with traffic noise or in shopping centers. It’s a slight step back compared to the previous generation.
The Transparency mode is usable, but it also doesn’t rank among the best. For everyday situations it’s enough, but it doesn’t offer as natural a transition as some competing models.
For phone calls, the earbuds are above average. The voice is clear and easy to understand, and they filter out typical background noise well. However, with strong wind or extreme noise, the quality drops slightly—though that’s common even in more expensive models.
Watching videos and playing games is where you’ll be pleased with the good audio synchronization, especially after enabling the gaming mode. Latency is minimal, and the experience feels natural.
Overall rating
The EarFun Air Pro 4+ are excellent wireless earbuds that stand out especially for sound quality, battery life, and the sheer number of features. Even though ANC is more of a weaker point, the overall package is highly convincing.
