Honor Series 700 officially: A small display directly between the cameras, 9 000 mAh and a 200 Mpx camera in a 6,57-inch phone

Honor officially showed the design of the 700 series for the Chinese market. All three models—Honor 700, 700 Pro, and 700S—have a small square display on the back that sits right in the camera island.

According to the website GSMArena, Honor also revealed colors and memory configurations along with the design, and you can already find the phones on pre-order in its official Chinese e-shop. The release date hasn’t been confirmed by the manufacturer yet, but GSMArena expects the announcement later this month.

The rear display won’t be only for the Pro model

A small display on the back usually appears only on the most expensive models, but Honor is giving it to the entire trio—so the basic Honor 700 and the 700S version will get it too. The square screen is placed next to the lenses inside the camera module, and on renders you can see a clock, a cat, or a picture of a smiling woman, so it will likely be used for the clock, notifications, and small animations.

The front looks similar on all three phones, with thin and even bezels all around and a display punch-hole for the selfie camera, so the differences between the models will mainly be in the hardware.

Four colors for the whole series

Honor confirmed that all three phones will be available in Blue Tone, Cold White, Clear Sky, and Pink Mist. In the official images, especially the pink and light blue stand out, paired with the rear display that alternates between a clock and animated images.

How phones look in real life is also shown by the first real photo, where all four colors are side by side, with the rear display turned on.

Honor hasn’t officially released the technical specifications, so everything else so far comes from leaks.

What the leaks reveal about the specs

According to a recent leak, Honor 700 will get a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, while the Pro version is said to run on a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 5. Both models are expected to have a periscope telephoto lens with teleconverter support, and the Pro will also feature a 6,57-inch display, a battery with a capacity of 9 000 mAh, and a main camera with a resolution of 200 Mpx. These are unofficial details that could still change before the launch.

The 700 series is currently intended for China, and the sources don’t indicate that a global launch has already been confirmed—so we don’t know if it will reach us. Official specs and prices should come only with the premiere.
