Honor confirmed the battery at 11 000 mAh and the debut on 28. September: Which of the three Magic9 models will get it?

Before the premiere, Honor unveiled another piece of the puzzle. On Chinese pre-order pages, it published official renders, colors, and memory variants of the entire Honor Magic9 lineup. In addition to the base Magic9 and the top-tier Magic9 Pro Max, it also includes a third model called the Magic9 Super Edition. The unveiling is scheduled for 28 September.

Honor Magic9 Pro Max: Three colors and up to 1 TB of storage

The top model will come in green, silver, and black. Honor will offer it in four configurations: 12 + 256 GB, 12 + 512 GB, 16 + 512 GB, and 16 GB + 1 TB. The dominant feature on the back is a large circular camera with an ARRI logo—the film brand Honor has collaborated with on its cameras.

Honor hasn’t officially confirmed the rest of the specs, but according to leaks summarized by the website Gizmochina, the Pro Max will get a 6.8-inch OLED display with bezels just 0.98 mm thick, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro chip, and an 8,800 mAh battery. On the back, there are said to be two 200 MPx cameras, while the front will reportedly feature a 55 MPx selfie camera with a square sensor, and the phone should also support 3D face recognition. We’ve already covered the cameras themselves and the additional lenses in the article about the ARRI collaboration.

The base Magic9 is more compact and comes in four colors

The standard Honor Magic9 will come in yellow, mint green, white, and black. It has the same memory variants as the Pro Max, including the top version with 16 GB RAM and 1 TB of storage. The camera module is similar too, only the lens rings are slightly smaller. It also has the ARRI logo.

According to the leaks, this will be a compact flagship with a 6.37-inch display with 1.5K resolution, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, and an 8,000 mAh battery. The rear setup should consist of a 200 MPx main sensor, a 50 MPx ultra-wide lens, and a 200 MPx periscope telephoto lens. We broke down the details of the leaks in the article about the three Magic9 lineup variants.

Magic9 Super Edition: 11 000 mAh battery and a fan?

The biggest unknown is the new Magic9 Super Edition. In the renders, it looks almost the same as the base Magic9 and also has the same four colors. The portal GSMArena did notice that the camera module lacks the ARRI logo. The memory versions are only three: 12 + 256 GB, 12 + 512 GB, and 16 + 512 GB. The 1 TB version is missing.

Honor has officially confirmed that one of the phones in the series will come with a battery capacity of 11 000 mAh. However, it didn’t reveal which one. Leaks attribute it to the Super Edition and add a 6.8-inch display with a 165 Hz refresh rate, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, active cooling, and a glass-fiber body. The cameras are said to be more modest — a 50 MP main, a 12 MP ultra-wide, and a 50 MP telephoto.

For Slovak customers, it’s good news that Honor sells its flagship models here officially. The previous Magic8 Pro arrived in Slovakia in January and can be purchased in the official e-shop as well as from carriers. Which of the three new models will make it to us is still unclear — especially the Super Edition, which may be sold only in China.

You don’t have to wait for an official entry to our market, though. As we wrote earlier, the Magic9 series will also be available from our partner GShopper — based on our assumptions in the global version, meaning support for European frequency bands, Google services, and no system language issues. We don’t know the exact start date of sales yet — as soon as the offer goes live, we’ll let you know, and if we manage to negotiate a coupon, we’ll attach it.
