Honor is preparing a mid-range phone that noticeably resembles the iPhone 17 Pro and will come with a 10 000 mAh battery

On the Chinese social network Weibo, a purported promo poster for a new smartphone from the Honor brand has appeared, instantly drawing attention. The reason is its design—because it noticeably resembles the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro from Apple. The smartphone has almost identical curved edge styling, the same layout of the cameras, and even a similar color to the “Titan Gray” version from the California giant.

A big battery as the main selling point

Even though Honor hasn’t officially presented the new model yet, leaks mention the Honor Power 2, which has also appeared in the Geekbench benchmark database under the model number SER-AN00. This device is expected to come with a massive 10,000 mAh battery, making it a smartphone with one of the biggest batteries on the market. So it should be a mid-range phone that could appeal mainly with its battery life and a design inspired by the premium segment.

The leaked poster could show the Honor Power 2

MediaTek Dimensity 8500 as the core building block

According to Geekbench, the device will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 chipset with a 3.4 GHz clock, which is intended for mid-range smartphones in 2026. This processor won’t reach the level of Snapdragon chips from flagship phones, but for everyday use—and even for games—it should be more than enough. The benchmark result confirms the device has a strong chance of delivering a very smooth user experience.

Will the Honor Power 2 be available in Europe too?

So far, it has not been confirmed whether the Honor Power 2 will reach the global market as well. The predecessor, which did not have an iPhone-like design, was not sold outside China. However, if Honor leans on the iPhone 17 Pro design similarity and reliable hardware with a large battery, it could appeal to European customers looking for a more affordable alternative to premium models.

The iPhone-inspired design hasn’t escaped criticism. Some users on Chinese forums have been throwing wordplay at Honor, like “Honor has no honor,” which roughly means “Honor has no honor.” The most commonly mentioned point is copying Apple’s camera module and color choices. According to the leaked poster, it should be available in at least three colors, and the back design is almost indistinguishable from the iPhone. Combined with a huge battery, though, it’s an interesting mix that could attract especially younger users or gamers.
