Most watches that promise blood pressure measurement actually just estimate it using an optical sensor. Huawei is taking a different approach for the third generation: in the Watch D3, it has built a real inflatable cuff into the strap—the kind you know from a blood pressure monitor. The new model is thinner than its predecessor, and along with it the manufacturer also introduced the budget-friendly FreeBuds Neo earbuds.

The measurement system is based on an inflatable bladder and a precise pressure sensor, not on optics. The Watch D3 strap is 25.5 mm wide, i.e., one millimeter narrower than on the Watch D2 model, and the entire case is 11.3 mm thick with a weight of 40 grams. For such a solution, it’s fairly compact. The previous generations felt noticeably more rugged on the wrist.
The display got a serious upgrade. It’s a 1.92-inch LTPO AMOLED with a resolution of 480 × 408 pixels and peak brightness 3,000 nits, which is double what the Watch D2 offered at fifteen hundred. Data transfer is handled by Bluetooth 6.0, and a 540 mAh battery, according to the manufacturer, should last up to six days of normal use.

The key feature remains 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure monitoring, which Huawei carried over from the previous model. The watch measures at intervals according to the methodology of the European Society of Hypertension and also follows the minimum number of readings. At night, the cuff inflates more quietly so the measurement won’t wake you up.
A complete new feature is pressure monitoring before and after your workout, so you can see whether you’re training within a safe range and how the values change after the load. As stated by the GSMArena portal, the watches also retained their CE marking in line with the European medical device regulation. The measured values therefore have the same clinical coverage as the previous model.
Health Glance, Health Insights a rodinný dohľad
Besides blood pressure, the watch offers the Health Glance feature, which checks up to 11 health indicators and summarizes them in a report in about a minute. Health Insights now combines blood pressure data with sleep and daily activity data, so the result makes more sense than just raw numbers.

FreeBuds Neo: 30 dB ANC a puzdro v tvare kamienka
The second new feature is the FreeBuds Neo earbuds. They use dual-channel noise cancellation tuned for mid and high frequencies (wind and speech around you), with an effectiveness of up to 30 dB. The third-generation audio chip is said to adapt noise cancellation in milliseconds, which should reduce the unpleasant pressure in your ears when the noise suddenly changes.
Each earbud weighs 4.8 grams and fits in a fully rounded case that Huawei calls Mini Shuttle. Inside is a new Turbo driver with a frequency range of 10 Hz to 48 kHz; together with Huawei devices, it supports lossless transmission up to 2.3 Mb/s, while on other platforms the ceiling is 990 kb/s. Spatial audio is included, Android, iOS, and Windows are supported, and you can switch between two devices. On a single charge you get 6.5 hours of listening with ANC enabled, and with the case you reach 40 hours.

Kedy a za koľko
Both new releases go on sale September 23. In the UK, Watch D3 will cost 399.99 £ and FreeBuds Neo 119.99 £, with Huawei offering a 20 £ discount on the earbuds until October 26. The manufacturer hasn’t announced pricing for the Slovak market yet, so you’ll have to wait a bit longer.
