A great review from the Czechs brothers

The Czech YouTube channel BIKE O’Clock tested this Chinese machine and rightly dubbed it “the Chinese doom machine”. On this video, the Laotie FT100 was put through the wringer on jumps and also during downhill.

Solid build

To make using the Laotie FT100 bike as pleasant as possible, the manufacturer chose high-quality aluminum, which makes the frame both lightweight and sturdy. The bike weighs 27 kilograms, and the maximum load capacity stated by the manufacturer is 150 kilograms.

Safe and comfortable riding is then ensured by a pair of ZOOM disc brakes, along with front andrear spring suspension to smooth out bumps. The equipment also includes a powerful front headlight and the option to “fold” the bike in half for easier handling.

No shame at all for 1000 W

In the rear wheel, there’s a powerful electric motor with a maximum output of up to 1000 W. Thanks to this power, the bike can reach a top speed of up to 40 km/h, and a 35° climb also won’t be a problem.

The handlebars feature a clear display too (with advanced settings options, such as wheel diameter and similar), along with controls, showing the current speed, battery status and other useful information, a 7-speed Shimano gear shifter and a throttle. The manufacturer also boasts a comfortable and ergonomically shaped seat.

Range of up to 120 kilometers

From Laotie’s FT100 line, the bike comes with a battery pack with a capacity of 15 Ah (48 V / 720 Wh), thanks to which the maximum range in combined mode is up to 120 km. In pure electric mode, the range is in the 45-65 km range—still a solid figure. Charging with the included charger takes 5–6 hours.

As we mentioned, the bike has up to three modes: pure electric drive, combined mode, and pure human (pedal) drive. The Laotie FT100 is equipped with thick 20×4″ tires.
