Slovak review:
Compact radios for non-demanding users
Baofeng BF-888S two-way radios are part of the basic models category—ideal for a less demanding user who doesn’t need advanced features. They’re also easy to use, so all you have to do is unpack, turn them on, and start using them.
One radio weighs 175 g and with the antenna measures 4.5 x 21 x 2.5 cm. The package includes a pair of radios, two charging stations with a USB cable, clips, and a wrist strap.
Range, frequency and other features
The Baofeng BF-888S radios have a frequency range of 400 – 470 MHz on the FM band (UHF – ultra short waves). They have a power output of 5 W, are programmable, and support up to 16 channels. The range of the radios is 6 km, but don’t forget that the range always depends on the environment where you use the radios.
The Li-ion battery has a capacity of 1500 mAh, which should be enough for 8 hours of use. There’s also no missing LED light for illumination in the dark.
The radios also feature automatic voice transmission control, so you can use them even without manually pressing the PTT button.
