After last year’s Game of Thrones collaboration, Realme has once again borrowed a famous film license, this time from the wizarding world of Harry Potter. In partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Consumer Products, it unveiled the Realme 16 Pro 5G Harry Potter Edition, a limited version of its current upper-midrange flagship model.
A back panel that changes color with the light
The edition is based on the Master Gold color scheme that Realme turned into a color-changing canvas. The manufacturer calls it the “world’s first” Quadra Light-Sensing Color-Changing technology. On the back panel, you’ll find the crests of all four Hogwarts houses (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, and Hufflepuff), along with the school’s Latin motto „Draco Dormiens Nunquam Titillandus” (Never tickle a sleeping dragon). On top of that, the phone’s metal frame is engraved with the text “Welcome to Hogwarts”.”
According to the website Gizmochina, this is already Realme’s second collaboration with Warner Bros. after last year’s limited edition Realme 15 Pro based on Game of Thrones. Realme Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Xu Qi (Chase Xu) said the collaboration is meant to bring the technology closer to younger users and that Harry Potter is a natural choice for this strategy.
Packaging shaped like a Hogwarts trunk
Just as much attention as the phone itself went into the packaging. The box is shaped like a Hogwarts school trunk, with a brown faux-leather finish, brass rivets, and a gold Hogwarts crest on the front. Realme also unveiled wireless earbuds Realme Buds T500 Pro Harry Potter Edition in a brown-and-gold color combination. Each earbud is engraved with the letter „H” and comes with a charging case featuring a Hogwarts crest, which is also shaped like a trunk.
Realme has not yet released the full spec sheet for the special edition or confirmed whether it brings any hardware changes. If Realme sticks to the same approach as with last year’s Game of Thrones edition, which kept the same hardware as the regular Realme 15 Pro, we can expect the Harry Potter Edition to use the same hardware as the standard Realme 16 Pro 5G: 6,78-inch 144 Hz AMOLED display, Dimensity 7300 Max chipset, 200 MP main camera, and 7 000 mAh battery.
Only for India for now
Realme confirmed the launch of the special edition on the Indian market, but hasn’t shared the exact prices or sale date yet. The company has also announced a pop-up event planned for 21 September 2026, which is expected to be a fan meet-up or an early sale in one of the main launch cities.
Realme hasn’t said yet whether the collector’s edition will also make it to Europe or Slovakia. Limited editions tied to movie licenses are commonly sold only in selected markets, and to us they arrive rather exceptionally over time via imports. A standard Realme 16 Pro 5G without the licensed extras, however, you can buy in Slovakia from regular retailers—so if you’re only interested in the phone itself without the “magic” packaging, you don’t have to wait for anything special.
