This smartphone didn’t get much talk and it’s likely nobody expected it. The question is whether it’s even necessary for the market—after all, it’s a model with the same specs as the base version, except for the main sensor.
An old familiar face
Since the only change versus the Realme 6 model is in the camera, all other specs remain identical. The device is powered by the MediaTek G90T processor, which has 8 cores. For the first time, it appeared in the competitive Redmi Note 8 Pro model.
90 Hz display
The device features a 6.5-inch IPS Full HD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels. The display supports up to 90 Hz refresh rate. In the top-left corner there’s a cutout for the 16 MP front camera. The display can also boast a 120 Hz sampling rate and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Change in the camera
Realme 6s comes with a quad rear camera setup, with a main 48 MPx sensor. The next 8 MPx module is for wide shots, 2 MPx for macro photography, and the last 2 MPx for depth sensing.
The device runs on Android 10 with Realme UI, a new software skin launched at the beginning of this year.
Battery
All of it is powered by a battery with great capacity 4300 mAh, with support for 30 W fast charging. You can charge the device via USB with a Type-C connector.
Other specs
Realme 6s also offers 4 GB LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.1 storage 64 GB. On the side of the smartphone you’ll find a fingerprint reader. For data transfer there’s Bluetooth 5.0, and for connecting to the world, WiFi 802.11 AC
Price and availability
The new model will be available in two colors: Eclipse Black and Lunar White. The Realme 6s price is set at 199 € / 220 $.
For Europe, it will be available starting June 2nd, exclusively in the online store Carrefour.
