Redmagic 7: 165 Hz display and Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor
The base model Redmagic 7 comes with a 6.8″ OLED panel with Full HD+ resolution and a high refresh rate up to 165 Hz, which mobile gamers will especially appreciate. Power is handled by the flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset from Qualcomm, manufactured using 4 nm technology.
The processor is complemented by up to 8 / 12 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of internal storage. There’s no shortage of a battery with a total capacity of 4500 mAh and support for ultra-fast 120 W wired charging. On the software side, you’ll get Android 12 with the manufacturer’s custom UI.
Cooling is also a very important part of the specs. It’s the ICE 8.0 cooling system, which includes an RGB fan capable of 20,000 revolutions per minute. It also contains nine different materials for heat dissipation, plus a large cooling plate Vapor Chamber. Other features include Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi 6, dual stereo speakers, up to three built-in microphones, and a 3.5 mm audio jack for connecting headphones.
On the back, there are three cameras, with the main one offering a resolution of 64 MPx. This sensor is also paired with a 8 MPx ultra-wide camera and a 2 MPx macro sensor. Standard sensors are also here, such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, proximity sensor, and compass.
Redmagic 7 Pro: Red Core 1 chip, 18 GB RAM and up to 165 W GaN charger
Besides the standard version, the manufacturer also introduced the Redmagic 7 Pro. This model shares the same chassis as the base model, but comes with several significant upgrades. For example, it includes a special Red Core 1 chip designed to improve performance, the resulting audio experience, and the gaming experience. The chassis also features control buttons along the side frame, linked to this chip and offering touch response up to 500 Hz.
The display has also been upgraded, with the Pro smartphone featuring a front camera integrated beneath the screen surface for a fully immersive and uninterrupted gaming experience. The display technology and diagonal are the same as on the base model, but it adds a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 10-bit colors, DC dimming, and an integrated in-display fingerprint sensor, along with heart rate tracking support.
This smartphone is also powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, this time paired with up to 18 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 1 TB of internal storage. The RAM also offers virtual expansion thanks to fast storage, allowing you to reach a total capacity of up to 24 GB.
As for the cameras, the back houses the same 64 MPx main sensor, supplemented by a 8 MPx ultra-wide and 2 MPx macro camera. The front camera integrated under the display has a resolution of 16 MPx. The Pro model offers a large 5000 mAh battery with 135 W fast charging support (from 0 to 100% in just 15 minutes). Notably, the package includes a 165 W GaN charger.
