- solid 2000 W performance with smooth acceleration and a top speed of around 60 km/h
- reliable disc brakes, even though they’re cable-based

After the recently tested KuKirin G2 Master electric scooter, we have another new model from the same manufacturer—KuKirin G4. It’s a higher-end line with roughly the same motor power, a better battery, and a more massive build.
In this review, we’ll again take a close look at the build quality, examine the individual components in detail, and evaluate the overall riding experience. Last but not least, you’ll also find a real-world range test on a single charge.

Packaging contents & quality
The KuKirin G4 e-scooter was delivered to us by the SPS courier in a double box measuring 1310 x 300 x 615 mm, with a total weight of up to 43 kg. Inside the box, the e-scooter is packed in a folded state with the handlebars and the rear fender removed.
Unlike e-bikes, you won’t deal with any lengthy assembly here. You just unfold the scooter, attach the handlebars to the stem using two screws, and also fix the rear fender using a pair of screws.
The keys needed for these steps are included in the package, along with the manual and the charger.
To prevent the scooter from getting damaged during transport, it’s protected by several shaped polystyrene pieces. Unfortunately, they crumble, so we had polystyrene scattered all over the scooter. If you unpack the scooter indoors, we recommend having a vacuum cleaner on hand for the polystyrene.
Overall, the scooter is packaged well, even though instead of polystyrene we’d prefer foam braces that don’t create unnecessary mess.
A high-quality and extremely robust scooter
Electric e-scooters with similar power, 2000 W, are usually already among the more powerful, bulky ones, but the KuKirin G4 has a more massive build than we expected. Compared to the KuKirin G2 Master, which we still have fresh in our memory since we recently tested it, the G4 model is significantly more robust.
The scooter keeps the brand’s colors, so it’s black and orange. Its frame is made of an aluminum alloy, and the design choice is definitely a success.
Whether it’s the steering column bar with an interesting design, the wheel mount, the foot platform, or the wheels—everything looks massive at first glance. That also matches the e-scooter’s weight, which is 37 kg. So it’s a truly heavy machine, but unfortunately it has its drawbacks.
It’s hard to carry the scooter up and down stairs, because there’s really nothing solid to grab onto. When folded, we usually hold it by the main steering stem, but here it’s too sharp and angular, so it’s uncomfortable to hold in your hand.
When the scooter is folded, we typically grab it with one hand somewhere above the front wheel area, and with the other hand by the rear footrest. In this case, though, there’s no handle at all, and the end piece is rather slippery. The most natural way was to hold it with your right hand by the rear light underneath the footrest mentioned above, but since it’s plastic, it’s not the best option.
As for dimensions, the rubberized foot platform measures 51 x 22 cm, the handlebars are 129.5 cm above the ground, and the total length of the e-scooter is 133.6 cm. The handlebar height is just right for us (the editor has 185 cm). They’re not height-adjustable, but on the other hand they’re sturdier and more stable.
Handlebars with a large touch display
The handlebars are 66 cm wide, have fairly soft rubberized grips, and a large LCD display in the middle. It shows the current speed, riding mode, total mileage, battery capacity, the KuKirin brand logo, and a trio of touch buttons.
The Mode, Light, and Set buttons are used to switch between riding modes, turn the lights on or off, and switch between speed units (km/h or mph).
The display isn’t the best in strong sunlight, but at least the current speed is clearly visible. Our biggest concern is the battery capacity display. Once again, you only get a graphical indicator—up to ten segments inside the battery icon. We’d much prefer a voltage readout in volts.
The graphical display can be misleading and inaccurate—something you have to get used to. Also, since there are as many as 10 segments, at higher speeds they don’t read as well.
Let’s move on to the components on the handlebars. On the left side, the manufacturer placed a rear brake lever and a turn-signal controller with a horn. On the right side, there’s the front brake lever together with the throttle lever.
Power and riding modes
The KuKirin G4 isn’t trying to be any kind of city e-scooter with a max speed of 25 km/h. The motor power is 2000 W, mounted at the rear, reaching a top speed of 70 km/h—at least according to the manufacturer.
We only achieved this speed in practice when riding downhill. Even on a long straight, the top speed was just “around” 64 km/h. According to GPS, it was another 4 km/h less. Not that it’s little, but it’s not common for an e-scooter to fail to reach the speed claimed by the manufacturer.
Still, the power is enough—the scooter accelerates nicely and smoothly. It’s not some kind of asphalt shredder or a scooter that jerks at launch, but the performance is just right.
It offers three riding modes with maximum speeds of 20, 40, and 70 km/h. As we already mentioned, you won’t reach the 70-mark, but the lower speed steps are precise, matching the stated speed.
The maximum claimed grade of 20° is, in our opinion, too optimistic. In steep hills, the e-scooter naturally slows down, and on long climbs it really has to work. It handles them fairly well, but it definitely won’t manage a 20° incline.
Wide tires and comfort during the ride
The electric scooter KuKirin G4 has properly wide 11″ tires with a tire size of 90/65 – 6.5. It’s sold with a road tread, but it also does fine on lighter terrain like dirt paths and farm tracks.
Thanks to its tread pattern, the scooter is exceptionally quiet on asphalt—though that also has a small downside – people nearby can’t hear you coming too well. As for suspension, we’ve got both front and rear spring shock absorbers. The scooter absorbs bumps really well, but sometimes it’s almost too soft, and when riding over larger irregularities—especially at higher speeds—we often hit the shock absorber’s limit, where you can hear a clunk.
So we rode with the scooter in pretty good comfort overall. We also appreciate the rear footrest/grip, where you can comfortably rest your foot if you want to change your riding stance.
Good brakes, but weaker lighting
With these stronger e-scooters, we automatically expect high-quality disc brakes. In this case, the manufacturer chose mechanical, cable-actuated brakes, so we were skeptical at first—but we were surprised. Even though they aren’t hydraulic, the levers press in easily and the brakes grab very well. The KuKirin G4 is proof that even cable-actuated disc brakes can be excellent.
As we already mentioned earlier, the scooter has turn signals in addition to the standard lights. They’re placed not only at the rear, but also at the front. Unfortunately, just like in other cases, the indicator lights aren’t very easy to see, and especially during the day we definitely wouldn’t rely on nearby drivers noticing them.
The front turn indicators sit at the edge of the front white light, which is covered by a relatively large casing at the level of the display on the handlebars. It should also serve as a kind of screen/shield for the display. The rear turn indicators, on the other hand, are built into the rear red light.
Even the mentioned front light isn’t particularly bright, and when riding in complete darkness, you’d definitely want better illumination.
Battery and range
Let’s move on to one of the most anticipated categories: the battery and range on a single charge. The KuKirin G4 comes with a 60 V / 20 Ah battery, which is stored very safely in the frame, along with a 40 A controller. According to everything, it uses a sinewave controller and provides a smooth start-up curve.
The manufacturer claims a range of up to 75 km on a single charge, without any additional details. As is usually the case, this range isn’t really very realistic, and most of the time we cover only slightly more than half of the manufacturer-stated figure.
We carried out the range test on a single charge with a 80 kg rider in the highest mode. We set off from Košice into the surrounding area, and for the first roughly 23 km we rode almost constantly at full power through the nearby villages. The terrain was slightly hilly. We then returned to the edge of the city, where we alternated between riding faster and slower, but always in the highest Race mode.
Overall, we covered 38.58 km, and we ended the ride when the last segment of the battery indicator had been lit for some time—this should correspond to a battery capacity of around 10%. We measured the range using a smartphone with the Runkeeper app.
You won’t be happy about the long charging time with the 2 A charger. It takes about 11 hours.
KuKirin G4: Final evaluation
If you’re looking for a stronger, well-built, bulky e-scooter, the KuKirin G4 is definitely an interesting choice. Right from the start, it impresses with a high-quality, exceptionally massive build with wide tires.
The e-scooter comes with a 2000 W motor at the back, which lets it reach a maximum real-world speed of 60 km/h. It’s comfortable, well-sprung, and offers very good ride performance with a stable stance thanks to the wide deck and the footrest at the rear.
You’ll also get a 60 V / 20 Ah battery and quality disc brakes. The only downsides are that it takes a very long time to charge and it has a higher weight. Because of that, and because there’s no handle for attaching it over the rear wheel, the e-scooter is hard to carry—for example when going up stairs.
All in all, though, it’s a very well-built scooter for those who want faster riding and a solid build quality for a reasonable price.
If we’ve convinced you, you can find the Electric scooter with our long-time partner Banggod, who also provided it to us for testing.
