After the not-so-successful Ultenic TS1 robotic vacuum model, we gave this brand another chance. We ordered their top model Ultenic MC1 with a cleaning station that includes not only a dust bag but also a water tank and can clean and dry the mop.
Also, considering its look, this vacuum is relatively affordable compared to well-known and proven brands. So we’ll take another look at all its features and assess whether buying it is worth it.

High-quality double packaging
The company courier DPD brought the Ultenic MC1 to us in a large and quite heavy box. Its dimensions are 52.1 x 52.1 x 52.9 cm, and it weighs 20.2 kg. Even the box already suggests that this vacuum’s cleaning station won’t be very compact—quite the opposite.
We appreciate the packaging, which—following the pattern of a cheaper model—is protected by a second, protective box as well. Even inside, it maintains high-quality protection of the individual parts against damage.
The cleaning station and the vacuum are placed in molded cartons and wrapped in foil as well as a foam layer. Besides the mentioned main components of the vacuum, you can also find in the box: the power adapter, a clear manual, a spare side brush, a spare HEPA filter, a bag for the cleaning station, two pairs of mops, a brush for cleaning, and even a mop-cleaning solution.
The cleaning solution is a nice surprise. It has a lemon scent and it’s not some tiny sample. Its volume is 500 ml. For such quality packaging and rich accessories, Ultenic definitely deserves praise.
Design and build quality
Let’s first take a look at the design of the Ultenic MC1 robot vacuum itself. In this case, it’s grey, glossy, and looks great—almost luxurious—at first glance.
At the top, there’s a laser rotating system that handles navigation and mapping of the space. You’ll also find three buttons: – power on / power off, return to the cleaning station, and cleaning the area around where the vacuum is currently located.
The dust container is hidden under the vacuum’s top cover and has a capacity of 350 ml. Along the perimeter you’ll find the typical bumper, charging connectors, and sensors.
At the bottom, you’ll find large wheels, which can tackle obstacles up to a maximum of 2 cm high while vacuuming and 1.8 cm high while mopping. There’s also a side three-armed brush, a cylindrical rotating brush with bristles, and drop-off sensors.
Massive cleaning station
In this case, the cleaning station is truly massive and consists of two parts that simply need to be connected. These parts click together and lock in place, but once we had an issue where they slightly separated while the vacuum returned to the station. In such a case, the vacuum would report an error “Tray removed” and wouldn’t start vacuuming again until we firmly reattach the base.
After opening the top cover of the cleaning station, you get to the waste bag, which has a capacity of 3 L. Two water tanks surround the bag on both sides—one for clean water and the other for dirty water. Both have a capacity of 4 L.
On the front part of the station, there are also four buttons – start / pause, return the vacuum to the station, mop cleaning, and vacuum dust suction from the vacuum.
Since there’s both a water tank and a dust bag here, the cleaning station handles automatic emptying of the vacuum, dispenses water for mopping, cleans the mops by wiping them against textured plastic parts in the station base, and even includes a warm-air drying system.
Ultenic app and pairing with a smartphone
Ultenic MC1 works with the Ultenic app, which we already tried during testing of the TS1 model. The app requires registration and sign-in, where we can then see our devices.
Adding another vacuum was both very easy and quick. Just tap the button with the “+” icon, choose the model, and follow the on-screen instructions. The whole process is based on connecting to the vacuum’s WiFi network and then selecting your home WiFi network to connect to. The entire process is really fast and simple.
The Ultenic MC1 vacuum app’s home screen shows a map after the first cleaning, which it automatically divides into rooms. Around the map you’ll find all the most important buttons for cleaning settings and controlling the vacuum.
Here, for example, you can set suction power, rotate the map, create no-go zones, map editing mode, set the drying mode, and you’ll also see two buttons – start cleaning and a quick return of the vacuum for charging.
Above the map, you can also see the vacuum’s battery level as a percentage, as well as the duration of the current or last cleaning along with the area in m2 that the vacuum has currently covered.
First cleaning and mapping of the area
Right from its first time exploring the rooms, Ultenic MC1 also fully vacuums. So it doesn’t have a quick mapping/exploration feature like we know from Roborock vacuums. On first start, those just quickly go around the perimeter of each room in order to build an initial map.
Unlike the cheaper TS1 model, the Ultenic MC1 includes the classic rotating laser system on the top that handles discovery and navigation in the space (LDS). As a result, the vacuum doesn’t turn needlessly around its own axis like the TS1 did.
Its movement is smooth, impacts with objects are minimal and gentle, and overall its navigation impression is very solid. The vacuum doesn’t get stuck, doesn’t wander, and knows exactly where to go.
Suction power and cleaning quality
The Ultenic MC1 robot vacuum has a maximum suction power of 5000 Pa. It features a standard bristle roller brush at the bottom and a single three-armed side brush for collecting dirt from corners and edges of rooms.
Before each cleaning, you can choose from four suction power levels. You can vacuum the entire apartment, selected rooms, the current area where the vacuum is located, or a specific point on the map.
As with all detailed reviews of robot vacuums, we also tested the cleaning quality here. In the kitchen, we scattered oats, coffee, and red lentils on the floor. We sent the vacuum to clean up this mess at the highest suction power.
So how did it turn out? Ultenic MC1 performed pretty well, but it didn’t escape the common issue that almost every robot vacuum has. It’s the side broom that blasts larger debris onto spots the vacuum has already cleaned—so it ends up soiling areas that were clean.
After the first run, a few pieces of red lens-like debris were still on the floor. They didn’t disappear completely even after the second run. However, the suction power is strong enough and the vacuum does its job well. The real problem is the larger particles of dirt, which most robot vacuums struggle with.
Let’s just remind you that even a much more expensive Roborock S7 Max Ultra couldn’t vacuum up such debris on the first pass. The downside of a rotating bristle brush is excessive hair pickup directly onto the brush.
Mopping quality
At first glance, two round mopping cloths stand out—they rotate, which could indicate better floor mopping. Since standard robot vacuum mops don’t move, these ones vibrate more and feel like another level. At least that’s what we expected—so let’s take a look at the real test together.
In the kitchen, we spilled water mixed with cocoa and food coloring onto the floor. Then we left those mixtures to dry overnight so we could test the mopping quality in the morning. It’s not an easy task, especially with cocoa, which we definitely didn’t hold back on.
Unfortunately, the Ultenic MC1 didn’t really surprise us—it rather disappointed. After the first cleaning, it partially removed dye stains, but at the same time it smeared them further across the floor. After finishing the first cleaning cycle, it returned to the docking station, where it cleaned the mops and got ready for the second round.
This time it cleaned the mentioned coloring stains and partially reduced the cocoa stain, but it still didn’t fully wash it away even after the third mopping. We expected more from the rotating mop—especially because we removed the cocoa stain by hand afterward, very easily, without any effort. The vacuum is probably missing enough mop pressure against the floor.
Battery, runtime, and vacuuming speed
Ultenic Mc1 has a 5200 mAh battery, which should be enough for 180 minutes of operation. Charging takes about 5 hours. These are the manufacturer’s claims—now let’s look at the real-life results.
We ran the vacuum on all performance modes to see how long a single cleaning takes and how much battery it uses during that time.
Each cleaning cycle took about 34 – 35 minutes, regardless of power. On the lowest setting, it used just 13% of the battery; on the second level it was 18%; on the third 27%; and on the highest mode 33%.
Mopping took 26 minutes and we only lost 9 % battery. Here, though, we don’t have any choice in terms of cleaning level.
Map customization and settings
As we mentioned earlier, the robot vacuum automatically splits rooms. If you don’t like this layout, you can simply customize it in the map report. Besides changing how rooms are divided, you can also set a custom cleaning order, the number of cycles, and the performance mode for each room separately.
You also get virtual walls and no-mop (or even no-vacuum) zones. For every rug, we had to create a no-mop zone, because without it the vacuum always got stuck on the rug during mopping. It can’t automatically skip the rug.
You’ll also find settings for the automatic station, where you can choose the mop cleaning interval at the station (every 6, 9, or 12 minutes), and optionally the drying level – quiet or fast.
The settings menu also includes multi-map management, scheduling cleaning for a specific time, cleaning history, quiet mode, increased power on carpets, remote control, or even showing the status of individual components.
Ultenic MC1: Final review
After a fiasco with the Ultenic TS1 vacuum cleaner, we gave the brand’s top model, the Ultenic MC1, a chance. Just by looking at it, it’s clear there’s a big difference—whether it’s build quality, design, or the functionality itself. The MC1 impresses with strong suction power of 5000 Pa and, above all, a fully automatic charging/cleaning station.
It hides a dust bag along with tanks for clean and dirty water. That means the cleaning station can both wet the mop, wash it, and dry it. We also like the extensive included accessories, including the cleaning fluid for mopping.
We’re satisfied with the vacuuming performance, but we expected more from the mopping. Despite two rotating mops, the mopping quality lands only around the average level. Let’s not forget, though, the attractive price, which is significantly lower compared to well-known brands.
Despite a few shortcomings, it’s a pretty solid vacuum cleaner. If you don’t need high-quality mopping and want an automatic cleaning station for under 550 EUR, the Ultenic MC1 could be an interesting choice.
