Just recently, you could read on our sister site XiaomiPlanet that the expected Snapdragon 875 appeared in the AnTuTu benchmark. It didn’t take long and we already have a comparison of the processors Snapdragon 875 and Kirin 9000.

Both processors run on the most modern 5-nanometer architecture that Apple launched with its iPhone 12. After that, Huawei followed with the Mate 40 series and the era of the most top-tier processors kicked off

The performance is brutal

The Kirin 9000 processor, manufactured by HiSilicon, which is part of Huawei, has already been unveiled in the newest flagship series Huawei Mate 40. Even though Snapdragon 875 still has its debut ahead of it, the benchmarks have already started to surface.

Snapdragon 875

According to currently available reports, Qualcomm Snapdragon has the well-known core arrangement 1+3+4, with the most powerful one running at a frequency of 2.84 GHz. That’s pretty interesting, since the 865+ model will offer up to 3.09 GHz.

But it’s not all about the CPU frequency. Benchmark results are largely influenced by the type of storage, RAM, and also the graphics chip. Unfortunately, when it comes to graphics performance, Snapdragon completely matches the presented Kirin.

And now to those numbers. Snapdragon 875 reached a performance level of 333 269 points according to a certain benchmark, while the 865 model boasts 290 169 points. HiSilicon Kirin 9000 was rated at 275 862 points.

In terms of graphics performance, the chips are almost equal. Kirin 9000 scored 344 334 points, while Snapdragon 875 lags just slightly behind with 342 225 points and last year’s Snapdragon 865 offers graphics performance at 294 913 points.

As we mentioned, though, the benchmarks were carried out on different memory configurations with different hardware. That’s why these results should be taken with the appropriate reserve, but with current CPU performance, the user experience of the smartphone and the software optimization play a bigger role.
