Portable diesel heaters from China are a winter hit with cottage owners, campers, and people with a workshop, but most of them have a single motor that pushes air into combustion and into the room at the same time. What the first buyers say
The new model currently has four verified reviews with an average of 4,5 out of 5. A buyer from the USA tested it at around minus one degree and says strong heat comes out of the outlet; the start isn’t loud, and once the heater warms up, you can hardly hear it. They also praised the included air distribution hoses. A customer from France highlighted that the fuel pump is really quiet after starting; the product is nicely made, and the first two exhaust parts with the silencer stay cold to the touch.
One caveat did show up, though: the owner of a van with a box says they couldn’t get the automatic temperature-based on/off to work properly. Faster start-up and lower noise than a one-motor heater are praised by him as well—so if you plan to run it all night with automation, expect you might need to fine-tune it manually.
Two motors instead of one
The first motor brings air into the combustion chamber, and the second blows the warm air out—both have their own frequency control and are brushless. With typical cheap heaters, it’s one motor with two fans on a shared axis, so when you lower the power, the air supply to combustion also weakens and the heater starts to smoke more and clog up. With separate control, Vevor says you get cleaner burning, less carbon, and stable heat all night long.
Warm air starts flowing roughly after two minutes from ignition, and the 75 mm exhaust blows it out up to a distance of five meters. Power 3.16 kW is enough for a room of 15 to 35 m²—so for a smaller cabin, a garage, a workshop, a caravan, or a large tent.
Sixteen liters of diesel and consumption from 0,12 l per hour
The six-liter tank is built directly into the heater’s case, and in the box you also get a second, ten-liter tank that you connect when you want to heat for longer. Consumption ranges from 0.12 to 0.37 liters of diesel per hour depending on the set power—so the built-in tank at low power will last the whole night, and with the extra tank you can run it for several days. The manufacturer states a combustion efficiency of at least 82%.
The tank has a transparent window for viewing fuel status and a cap that won’t leak even when carrying it. The heater works on 12 and 24 V, so you can connect it to a car battery, a solar power plant, or a power source in your workshop.
Works even in high mountains
Regular diesel heaters in higher altitudes smoke and shut off because the air is thinner and the fuel doesn’t burn perfectly. Vevor promises stable operation up to 5 000 meters, so you can take it to a cabin in the Tatra Mountains or on an expedition to the Alps.
You set the temperature in the range of 10 to 45 °C on the LCD panel or via a remote control with a range up to 30 meters, so you can turn the heater on even from your sleeping bag or from the cabin while it’s still outside by the tent. The manufacturer recommends turning it on before driving so the car and engine don’t overheat after a cold start.
Quiet operation and more safety features
The exhaust comes with a muffler, and there is also noise insulation inside the cargo box, so heating doesn’t wake you up even at night—confirmed by the first buyers. The exhaust also has a protective cover to prevent burns, and if it overheats, the heating switches off automatically.
Installation should take about a minute and you don’t need any tools—just fit the exhaust with the cover and the hose for warm air. Since it’s a combustion device, the exhaust must always vent outdoors, and in a closed room or tent you should also have a carbon monoxide (CO) detector.
Don’t expect miracles from the number on the box, because 3.16 kW is less than cheap heaters with an 8 kW label claim—but those typically don’t deliver that much in reality. If you’re looking for a cheaper model with a single motor, check out our more diesel heaters too.
