Premium design and a thin build

Vivo X Fold5 sets a completely new standard in the foldable segment. When unfolded, its thickness is only 4.3 mm, which feels extremely premium. The device dimensions are 159.96 × 72.60 × 9.2 mm (folded), or 159.68 × 142.29 × 4.3 mm (unfolded).

Despite the giant display and a large battery, the weight stays at just 217 g. That’s less than several classic flagship phones without a foldable frame. The device is made of metal and glass and uses ultra-thin UTG glass for maximum durability.

Durability is backed by certification IPX8 / IPX9+ / IPX5, so the smartphone is protected against water and dust. On the sides, there’s a fingerprint reader built directly into the power button. Stereo speakers are included, along with high-quality processing with a Zeiss camera module on the back.

Next-gen display

Vivo X Fold5 offers two AMOLED displays at once. The outer one has a 6.53-inch diagonal and a resolution of 2748 × 1172 px. When the device is folded, thanks to the 21:9 aspect ratio, it looks like a classic smartphone.

Inside, there’s a huge 8.03-inch panel with a resolution of 2480 × 2200 px. Both displays offer LTPO 8T technology with an adaptive refresh rate of 120 Hz, a maximum brightness of up to 4,500 nits, and PWM dimming to save your eyes.

The screens have Zeiss Master Color certification and deliver beautiful color reproduction. On both the front and inner sides, a 32 MPx selfie camera with an f/2.4 aperture is discreetly hidden—great for video calls and selfies.

Powerful hardware powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

At the heart of the device is the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, still one of the most powerful chipsets on the market. Graphics are handled by the Adreno 750, and the device delivers top-tier results not only in benchmarks like AnTuTu, but also in real-world use.

The RAM comes with 16 GB of LPDDR5X, and the storage is 512 GB UFS 4.1, which is extremely fast. There’s no memory card slot here, but the capacity is more than generous even for demanding users. The Vivo X Fold 5 launched with Android 15 and Funtouch OS, and it also supports Google Play Services and a multilingual interface including Slovak. You can now install the latest Android 16 on it too. The manufacturer promises a total of 4 major OS updates.

The Vivo X Fold5 doesn’t hide its camera chops

On the back, you’ll find a 50 MPx triple camera developed in cooperation with Zeiss. The main VCS-Bionic sensor has an f/1.57 aperture and optical image stabilization. The 50 MPx ultra-wide sensor offers an f/2.05 aperture and a wide field of view. The trio is completed by a telephoto lens with 3× optical zoom, also 50 MPx, with an f/2.55 aperture. The Zeiss T* coating reduces reflections and improves image quality even in backlit scenes.

On both the front and inner sides, there are 32 MPx selfie cameras in small punch-hole display cutouts. You can record video in high resolution, and the output quality is tailored to the premium class.

Up to 6,000 mAh in such a thin body

The biggest weapon of this model is the 6000 mAh battery, which is unique in the foldable smartphone segment. It supports 80 W fast charging via USB-C and 40 W wireless charging. There’s also reverse wireless charging for accessories.

The Vivo X Fold5 can easily handle long days of heavy use. The manufacturer has also added smart battery-saving features to help keep battery life long. The phone also offers detailed charging limit settings to extend cell lifespan.

The Vivo X Fold5 supports all modern standards: Dual 5G, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC for payments, and GPS / GLONASS / BeiDou navigation. The USB-C port works in the 3.2 Gen 2 version and ensures fast data transfers. The device also supports Android Auto, while there’s no eSIM here.
