About the Welock brand
Welock offers home and office security products in its portfolio. It has been active in this field since 2013. It offers a wide range of security locks, including a keypad and fingerprint sensors, which are also designed for control via a mobile app or connection to a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth gateway. They’re made to order for both the European and the American market.
Welock Fingerprint Smart Lock Touch 41 is a smart lock with an app
The Welock Fingerprint Smart Lock Touch 41 smart lock comes in a matte grey finish, with a glossy black panel on the outside, where the fingerprint sensor is also located.
The lock dimensions are 56 mm (outer diameter) and 57 mm (inner diameter). The cylinder insert is 46 mm (outer diameter) and 38 mm (inner diameter), and the cylinder length is 40 – 55 mm (externally adjustable) and 30 – 60 mm (internally adjustable).
The construction itself is made from stainless steel as well as a zinc alloy. It also includes plastic materials, especially for the touch control. The weight of the entire device is 600 grams, which confirms its solid build. The European version is supplied with a standard cylinder that fits into most door thicknesses from 55 – 100 mm, without the need for drilling.
Memory for up to 100 fingerprints, OLED display, and a USB port
The manufacturer offers memory for up to 100 fingerprint entries, with 3 entries serving as the “manager.” Likewise, you can connect up to 20 RFID cards to the lock (3 pcs are included in the package). The construction provides enhanced protection against water and dust, even with IP 65 certification (note: suitable for doors with a roof/cover) and protection against electrical discharge up to 30 000 V or against fire.
On the outside of the lock, there’s also a small OLED display that shows you the current battery status, along with various settings and locking alerts. And what if the lock runs out of power? The manufacturer accounted for this situation as well and integrated a backup USB port. You can connect, for example, a power bank for emergency unlocking, but it’s not used for charging.
The device is also very fast. The fingerprint sensor is capacitive, and your fingerprint is recognized in just 0,5 seconds. Once your fingerprint is recognized, your door unlocks in the next second. Besides the sensor, you can also use an RFID card from the manufacturer or a mobile app to unlock or lock. Power is handled by three 1,5 AAA batteries, which last for up to 8000 uses.
In the product’s retail package, you’ll find the smart lock itself labeled Welock Fingerprint Smart Lock Touch 41. You’ll also get three RFID cards, 2 x keys to secure the individual parts, plus a brief user manual and the first device setup — as usual, in English.
