A powerful platform with Ryzen 7 5825U
The heart of the device is the AMD Ryzen 7 5825U, offering 8 cores and 16 threads with a max frequency of up to 4.5 GHz. It’s a CPU suitable not only for running NAS services, but also for more demanding home tasks, virtualization, or multimedia applications.
AOOSTAR WTR Pro comes in a configuration without system memory and without storage. That means you’ll need to buy RAM and drives separately, and then install the system yourself. The advantage is that you can build a setup exactly according to your needs.
Up to 64 GB RAM and huge storage potential
For system memory, there are two slots for DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM modules, with the manufacturer stating a maximum capacity of up to 64 GB. For fast system storage, there are also two M.2 2280 NVMe slots supporting PCIe 3.0, handling up to a total 8 TB SSD storage.
The biggest draw, though, is the four drive bays for 2.5- or 3.5-inch SATA disks. According to the specs, you can fit up to four drives with a capacity of 24 TB each, which theoretically adds up to as much as 96 TB of classic storage. The exact usable capacity will, of course, depend on the chosen system and how the drives are configured.
Two 2.5G Ethernet ports are ideal for a NAS
Network connectivity is crucial for any home server, and AOOSTAR WTR Pro doesn’t disappoint here. You get two 2.5G Ethernet ports, enabling much higher transfer speeds than standard gigabit Ethernet. This is useful, for example, when backing up large files or streaming multimedia content.
Wireless connectivity is ready thanks to a dedicated interface for a Wi‑Fi module, and Bluetooth 5.2 is included. From the extra equipment, you’ll get two USB 3.0 ports, two USB 2.0 ports, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort, USB‑C, a 3,5 mm audio jack, and a microSD card slot.
You can also use it like a regular mini PC
Although AOOSTAR WTR Pro is primarily interesting as a NAS, it’s not a one‑trick device. Integrated AMD Radeon Graphics handles everyday multimedia tasks, and the unit supports up to triple video output. The manufacturer lists support for Windows 11, so after adding RAM and storage, it can also work as a standard desktop PC.
The design is also interesting, with dimensions of 22 × 18,5 × 15 cm. It’s not a fully mini device, but thanks to the four drive bays and the hardware inside, it still stays fairly compact. Total weight is approximately 4 kg.
