At CES 2026, BLUETTI unveiled the Charger 2, a unified smart energy hub for cars and solar power, designed to change the way you manage mobile power. It solves key charging problems faced by travelers, owners of motorhomes, delivery drivers, and overlanders. Charger 2 combines high-speed charging from the alternator with a solar input, features a plug-and-play setup ready for recreational vehicles, and offers bi-directional reverse charging.
BLUETTI Charger 2 is designed to be installed in the rear cargo area of an SUV. It’s easy to set up in various vehicles, including pickups, camper vans, and C/B-class caravans.
Breaking the “either-or” barrier
For travelers, the challenge has been how to efficiently restore energy. Standard 12V car outlets are very inefficient and often take hours to charge a large battery. Even worse, traditional solutions force users to choose between alternator charging (while driving) or solar input (while parked). This limit means valuable solar energy is lost during the drive.
Charger 2 solves this with the revolutionary dual input architecture. The device uses power from both the alternator and solar panels at the same time, providing an output of up to 1200 W. Charging is therefore 13× faster than via traditional 12V outlets and almost 2× faster than with the previous Charger 1. You can charge a 1 kWh unit in under an hour, ensuring efficient top-ups even on short trips.
An ecosystem evolution: seamless integration
As the newest addition to the BLUETTI Ecosystem series, Charger 2 builds on the success of the Charger 1 Alternator Charger. It keeps 95% compatibility with third-party portable batteries and offers the same simple installation.
Based on user feedback, Charger 2 is designed to make the transition from the Charger 1 unit effortless. It uses the same wiring, so existing users can simply swap the main unit without any rewiring.
Plug-and-play hub for RVs, vans, and life off-grid
In addition to high-speed charging, Charger 2 also serves as the control unit for the Battery Link—vehicle energy management system. The device integrates a starter battery, solar panels, DC appliances, and expandable batteries into a simple dual-battery system without the need to manually switch between sources:
- While driving: the unit intelligently manages energy from the alternator and roof solar panels so it can charge batteries and power appliances at the same time.
- While parked: the system automatically switches to solar and battery power, ensuring essential devices run overnight without draining the starter.
An optional DC Hub for Charger 2 is also suitable for DIY users and includes a 12V/50A Anderson port, USB-A/USB-C, and cigarette-lighter outputs. The device provides stable DC power up to 600 W for refrigerators, diesel heaters, LED lighting, or Starlink terminals.
Advanced vehicle battery maintenance
BLUETTI understands that a healthy starter battery is crucial on the road, which is why Charger 2 includes comprehensive reverse charging with three maintenance modes:
- Emergency Jumpstart (800W): Quick boost for a drained starter battery for immediate engine starting.
- Trickle Charging (100W): Maintains the battery during long parking periods or seasonal storage.
- Pulse Maintenance (100W): Applies controlled pulsed currents to reduce sulfation, extending battery life.
Intelligent control and safety features
Charger 2 supports modern smart alternators (Euro 6 compatibility) via the D+ signal and enables control through the updated BLUETTI app (Bluetooth & Wi-Fi). It displays the current system status, outputs, and power consumption history.
The device is equipped with safety standards such as protection against overvoltage, overheating, and reverse polarity.
Elite 100 V2 Bio-Based: a green solution for energy transmission
At CES 2026, BLUETTI also unveiled an eco version of the Elite 100 V2 Bio-Based—the first portable battery with a body made from bio-circular plastics. Developed in collaboration with Covestro, it reduced carbon emissions by 25% (ISCC PLUS certification) while maintaining durability, fire resistance, and a 10-year lifespan. The device features a new “Earth Deep Blue” design.
