13. October 2026 6 min read 0 comments
Quick summary

  • Find X9 and Find N6 will get ColorOS 17 starting from 29 October
  • Find X8, Find N5 and Reno16 starting from 30 October
  • Reno15, Reno14 and the K and F series in November
  • OnePlus 13 and 15 currently have beta only available in India

One month after the Chinese launch, ColorOS 17 is coming to the rest of the world, and Oppo has also shared the exact update schedule. First, phones from the Find X10 series will receive the new system—they’ll be launched globally on 21 October, and a week later the previous year’s Find X9 series will follow. In the meantime, OnePlus has opened the beta for the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 15 models, so owners can try the system before the final release. With that, the brand is saying goodbye to its own OxygenOS.

This is what the system looks like on video

Schedule: When will ColorOS 17 arrive on Oppo phones

Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max will have ColorOS 17 right out of the box. For older phones, Oppo will start sending out the update from GSMArena 29 October, and the first to get it will be the foldable Find N6 and the entire Find X9 series. The very next day, Find N5, Find X8 and Find X8 Pro will join, along with the mid-range lineup in the form of the Reno16 series.

In November, the Reno15 and Reno14 series will come next, followed by older Find N3 and Find N3 Flip foldables and cheaper models from the K and F lines. December will cover the Reno13 series, K13 phones, and the Oppo Pad 5 and Pad 3 tablets. The last wave is planned for the first quarter of 2027 and includes Find N2 Flip, the Reno12 series, higher models from the F line, and the Pad SE tablet.

Oppo’s schedule notes that these are approximate dates. The update rolls out gradually in waves, and the exact day depends on the model, region, and carrier. A schedule does not apply at all to operator-locked phones. So if the update for your Find X9 doesn’t arrive right away on 29 October, that’s not a mistake.

What the global version of ColorOS 17 brings

ColorOS 17 is built on Android 17 and its new look is called Living Flow Design by Oppo. The interface is built on translucent panels, and every control element compresses, stretches, or snaps when you touch it. The more important change, however, is under the hood—rendering is now handled by a unified architecture that, according to Oppo, reduced rendering load by 25 % and RAM usage by 30 %.

Smoothness is taken care of by the enhanced Laminar Flow Engine—thanks to it, the phone keeps 25% more apps open in the background, and the gallery loads previews up to twice as fast on a cold start. We’ve covered in detail what changed in the look and controls in the September presentation of ColorOS 17 in China.

An AI agent that tidies up photos, plus protection against fake calls

A big part of the news revolves around artificial intelligence. The Agent mode in the AI Mind Pilot assistant can sort and rename photos or files based on the content and date. It can also handle multi-step tasks—for example, collecting vacation shots, saving them into an album, and cutting them into a short video. AI Mind Space, meanwhile, turns documents and video links into neat, searchable notes, and can also compile a trip plan complete with a map.

What’s interesting is the AI Call Guard feature, which directly on your phone recognizes an artificially created voice or swapped face in a video call and alerts you to a possible scam. Oppo processes sensitive AI tasks in its own secured cloud with end-to-end encryption, which, according to its own statements, even the manufacturer cannot access.

OnePlus 13 and 15 are already testing the beta

OnePlus has launched an open beta program for five phones: OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 13s, OnePlus 15 and OnePlus 15R. You could register from 9. to 12. October, and only in India, and only with a phone that isn’t carrier-locked. The specified OxygenOS 16 version had to be installed on the device, and you had to request the beta directly in the settings section under system updates.

OnePlus itself also warns that this is an early version, where some features may be missing. Until the system finishes background optimization, the phone may lag, run warmer, or drain faster. Before installing, it therefore recommends backing up your data, having at least 4 GB of free storage, and charging the battery above 30 %.

Going back to OxygenOS 16 will erase the phone

If you change your mind about the beta, you can return to OxygenOS 16 via a package that OnePlus publishes on its forum. However, you’ll lose all data on the phone. The package for OnePlus 15 is already available, and for the other models the manufacturer will add it according to Gizmochina—it’s not in yet.

It won’t last on it for long anyway, because, according to the website GSMArena, OnePlus 15 will switch to the final version on ColorOS permanently within days. OnePlus announced an end to its own overlay earlier this year, and from Android 17 it will ship the software from Oppo’s parent company in all phones.

When will the phones arrive in Slovakia

The schedule applies to the global versions of Oppo phones, meaning the units sold in Slovakia too—so Find X9 and Find X8 owners can look forward to it at the end of October and in November. For OnePlus phones, the manufacturer hasn’t announced stable-version dates yet, and the beta is limited to India, so it won’t apply to OnePlus 13 or OnePlus 15 owners bought here for now. Which Oppo models are eligible for updates, we broke down in a separate overview.
