Source: denza.com - Denza N8 is a five-seat electric SUV with a length of 5,150 mm and a wheelbase of 3,075 mm.
- Range according to the Chinese CLTC test is 800 to 1,003 km, depending on the battery version.
- The flagship version has three motors with a power output of 890 kW (1,193 hp).
- Charging from 10 to 97% takes nine minutes.
- A 1.1 m wide panoramic display and a 30″ touch screen dominate the dashboard.
The Denza brand—BYD’s premium arm—has unveiled the interior of its new large SUV N8 and at the same time confirmed specs that, just two years ago, would have sounded like sci-fi. According to China’s testing methodology, the electric SUV, which measures over five meters in length, should be able to cover more than a thousand kilometers on a single charge and recharge in a time in which, at the gas station, you can barely finish buying a coffee.
Dashboard with a 1-meter display
Denza published an official interior photo on August 31. The main feature is a panoramic display with a width of 1.1 meters mounted beneath the front windshield. The same setup can be seen on the Xiaomi YU7, Avatr 12, and the Jetour G700. Below it sits a separate 30″ touchscreen, and that’s an interesting twist: until then, BYD had used a swiveling “floating” display in almost all of its models.

The gear selector sits behind a three-spoke D-shaped steering wheel, and the center console houses wireless phone chargers, a block of physical buttons, and a hidden storage compartment. Details you’ll notice only after owning it: seat adjustment buttons are built into the door handles, there’s a driver-facing camera on the A-pillar, and the front seats are heated, ventilated, and offer massage functions. The details were reported by the website CarNewsChina.
LFP battery and a range of over a thousand kilometers
Under the floor, you can choose between two LFP battery packs: 105.792 kWh and 130.15 kWh. Lithium-iron-phosphate chemistry is cheaper and more durable than NMC, it just has a lower energy density; BYD solves that by simply making the battery bigger. Depending on the version, the range is between 800 and 1,003 kilometers according to the Chinese CLTC cycle.
One more thing to add: CLTC is significantly more generous than Europe’s WLTP. In real-world European conditions, the range for a car like this would likely be closer to around 700 to 800 kilometers—still a figure that very few electric SUVs can match today.

The most interesting figure, however, is charging. Denza claims the N8 can top up from 10 to 97 percent in nine minutes. This is so-called flash charging, which BYD introduced last year and that requires its own megawatt-class infrastructure. Without it, those numbers can’t be achieved.
Up to 1 193 hp in three motors
The base version has one electric motor on the rear axle with an output of 320 kW (429 hp), while the stronger rear-wheel-drive version delivers 370 kW (497 hp). The flagship version has a three-motor all-wheel-drive system with 890 kW, i.e. 1,193 hp. For a five-seat family SUV, that’s an absurd figure—but in China’s higher class, it’s basically become the norm.
The dimensions 5 150 × 1 999 × 1 820 mm and wheelbase 3 075 mm place the N8 among the largest SUVs on the market. The design follows the brand’s latest design language: split headlights, half-embedded door handles, and thin parallel taillights.

When it will arrive and who it will go up against
The Denza N8 is expected to arrive on the Chinese market within the coming weeks; the brand hasn’t announced pricing yet. It will compete with models such as the Xiaomi YU7, Avatr 12, Lynk & Co 900, Geely Galaxy M9, and Li Auto L9—exactly the segment that’s growing fastest in China right now.
That Denza is not a fringe brand is confirmed by the numbers: according to China EV DataTracker, it delivered 18,060 cars in China in July 2026, a year-on-year increase of 69 percent. The manufacturer has not said yet whether and when the N8 will make it to Europe.
