Memory chips are getting more expensive this year, so manufacturers of budget models cut corners on memory where they can—so 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage under 200 € is more of an exception than a rule today. HONOR X8d offers that exception and adds an AMOLED display with brightness up to 3000 nits, a 7000 mAh battery, a 108 Mpx camera and NFC for payments, while the body is only 7.5 mm thick. From a Spanish warehouse, you can get it now with the code for 181 €, but there’s one catch you should know before buying.
From the EU within a week, without customs duty and fees
HONOR X8d in the European version with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage is sold on AliExpress by the LukeNet Store, which ships it from a warehouse in Spain. Your package should arrive in about a week, shipping is free and you don’t pay customs duty or fees for shipments from China.

What the first buyers say
The phone currently has six ratings with an average of 4,8 out of 5. A buyer from Peru wrote that the package arrived four days earlier than expected, and inside the box they found—besides the phone—also a 45 W charger, a cable, a protective film and a transparent case. A customer from Spain received the phone the very next day and especially praised fast charging and the design. A buyer from France also wrote that his wife is thrilled with the vivid colors and contrast of the AMOLED display.
A charger in the box isn’t a given with cheap phones. For example, the HONOR 600 Smart 5G, which costs about the same, doesn’t include one in the package—so with the X8d you save a couple more euros on the adapter.
Catch: HONOR X8d doesn’t have 5G
Inside, there’s a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 chip and just from the name it’s clear the phone supports only 4G networks. For most people in Slovakia this isn’t an issue, because 4G covers almost the whole country and for everyday browsing, videos and navigation its speed is more than enough. However, if you want a phone for five years and assume operators will keep rolling out 5G, take a look at a 5G model—such as the mentioned HONOR 600 Smart 5G.
For a similar price it has a battery that’s 700 mAh larger, but only 4 GB RAM, 128 GB storage and an LCD display with low resolution. That’s why X8d is the better choice for anyone who cares about display quality and smooth app performance, while 600 Smart is more for those who want 5G and the longest possible battery life. The editors at YugaTech measured the X8d in the AnTuTu benchmark at over 520 000 points, which is enough for everyday apps and undemanding games like Mobile Legends at the highest settings. But Genshin Impact is playable only on low to medium settings, and after a quarter of an hour the phone starts to heat up.
AMOLED display with brightness up to 3000 nits
The biggest difference compared with cheaper competitors is the 6.77-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 3000 nits, and in the high-brightness mode it’s 1300 nits—so you can read the display in sunlight without any problem. AMOLED also delivers vivid colors and true blacks. According to YugaTech, colors in the default settings are slightly on the cool side, but you can adjust them to your taste in the settings.
The phone has stereo speakers with a mode of up to 300 % volume, which fits noisy environments, but at maximum volume, according to the test, the speakers start to distort. You can unlock it with your face or with the fingerprint sensor in the side button, which reviewers say is fast and reliable.
Battery: 7000 mAh in a body that’s 7,5 mm thick
HONOR X8d is only 7.5 mm thick and weighs 188 grams, but even so the manufacturer managed to pack in a battery with a typical capacity of 7000 mAh. In the PCMark test it lasted 17 hours and 28 minutes, and YugaTech’s reviewer said that for social media, movies, photos and a bit of gaming it was enough for almost two days. HONOR promises the battery will handle more than 1000 charging cycles and will keep good health for six years.
Charges with 45 W power and you’ll get the charger right in the box. The body is plastic, but—according to reviewers—it doesn’t feel cheap. You can also choose from blue, grey, and black colors, even though this seller currently mainly has grey in stock.
Impact-resistant from a height of two meters
The X8d has IP65 rating against dust and splashing water, and from SGS it received a five-star certificate for drop and crush resistance. According to the manufacturer, it survives a drop from 2 meters onto a marble floor, and since the package includes a transparent cover, it will be protected from day one.
It runs on MagicOS 10 with Android 16 and Google services, and it has NFC, so you can pay with Google Wallet. On the left side there’s a button for artificial intelligence: double-press to save what’s on the screen to AI Memory, and long-press to start recognition of what you see on the display. The phone doesn’t support eSIM, and HONOR hasn’t said yet how many major system updates it will receive.
Camera with 108 Mpx
At the back you get the main camera with a resolution of 108 Mpx, which—according to YugaTech—captures nearly true-to-life colors, decent sharpness, and a good dynamic range. Thanks to the high resolution, it can handle zooming up to 3× as well; beyond that, quality drops noticeably. The 5 Mpx ultra-wide camera holds up okay in daylight, but in the dark shots get grainy.
The front camera has 16 Mpx and it records video too; the rear one goes up to Full HD at 30 frames per second. So if you’re looking for a cheap phone with a nice display, plenty of memory, a battery for two days, and 5G, HONOR X8d is one of the most interesting choices at this price.
