Window cleaning is one of the last household chores that nobody has really automated properly yet. ECOVACS WINBOT W3 OMNI is an attempt at the most comprehensive solution the market offers today — a suction-cup robot that moves across the glass on its own, plus a multifunction 7-in-1 station that, between runs, washes and wrings out the cloth for it. We went through its specs, the price, and even the critical review that has appeared for it.

One critical review worth taking apart
The offer currently has only a handful of ratings, but the attention it deserves is even more for one of them. The first customer is thrilled: they praise build quality, material quality, fast delivery, and helpful communication with the seller. The second buyer, on the other hand, is quite critical, and their objections deserve a fair explanation — because some of them are actually intentional design choices, not mistakes.
It bothers them that the station is heavy and can’t be carried comfortably. That’s exactly what it’s for: a ten-kilogram station works like a counterweight that stabilizes the two-kilogram robot hanging on the glass. A light station would be a safety risk. They also object that the robot is permanently connected to the station with a cable — it’s a combined cable that includes both power and a 100 kg capacity safety tether. Without it, if there’s a power outage or loss of suction, the robot would end up on the sidewalk.
However, the two objections are justified. If water leaks from the station after every wash onto the pad underneath, it’s either a leak in that specific unit and a case for a warranty claim, or an incorrectly placed container for dirty water. And streaks on the glass are most often caused by three things: too much cleaning solution, hard water with a high mineral content, and a broken cycle when the robot doesn’t have enough room to pass the glass multiple times. For hard water, we recommend distilled water and a mode for very dirty windows, which repeatedly passes the glass.
7v1 station that washes the cloth in one minute
The main attraction of the W3 OMNI is its station with Vortex Wash technology. The robot drives into it by itself, and the station washes the cloth in one minute, removing 99% of stains, according to the manufacturer. That’s a key difference compared to older window cleaners, where you had to replace the soiled cloth manually after each room.
According to the manufacturer, the station can handle seven tasks at once: washing the cloth, charging the robot, storing both clean and dirty water, fall protection, cable management, ergonomic carrying, and a control panel. The clean water tank has 1.2 liters, and the dirty water tank has 1.1 liters, so for a full set of apartment windows, one fill is more than enough. The package includes two washable microfiber cloths.
Triple-nozzle spraying and WIN-SLAM 5.0 navigation
The water doesn’t reach the glass in a single jet, but via three nozzles with wide-angle spraying. Compared to the older W1 PRO model, the system delivers twice the water pressure and 90% more surface coverage, according to the manufacturer. In practice, that means the solution reaches the edges of the glass, not just the center of the path.
The WIN-SLAM 5.0 navigation system takes care of the route: it maps the window frame and plans coverage for the entire surface. The robot handles 1 m² in about 1.5 minutes in fast mode, and on a single charge it covers roughly 120 m². You can choose from seven cleaning modes — quick, deep, thorough, edge, spot, zone, and a special mode for very dirty windows. The battery has a capacity of 9,000 mAh and lasts up to 130 minutes of operation; it charges in three hours.
Twelve levels of protection so it won’t fall off the window
With a device that hangs on glass above the street, safety matters more than anything else. The WINBOT W3 OMNI has a 12-level safety protection system: suction with an operating vacuum pressure of 3,300 Pa and a peak of up to 10,000 Pa, air-pressure compensation, a gravity accelerometer, an optical sensor, a anti-fall mechanism, emergency locking, and protection during power outages.
The last item is the most important: in the event of a power failure, the robot stays on the glass thanks to a backup battery for an additional 30 minutes, giving you enough time to take it down. Plus, the safety tether you already mentioned with a load capacity of 100 kilograms and a docking station that serves as an anchor. The robot itself weighs 2.1 kg and is only 7.6 cm tall, so it can get even under a shallow roller blind. Noise levels up to 68 dB are normal for this type of appliance — it’s not a quiet machine that you’ll forget running in the living room during a movie.
Let’s be fair: it’s a premium category, and the robot won’t replace cleaning window frames or the outside surface in hard-to-reach areas. It handles smooth glass surfaces—windows, glass walls, doors, and mirrors—where it saves you hours. In Slovakia, it’s officially sold for 699 euros, and the cheapest local offer stays above 600 euros, so the price from the German warehouse makes sense.
