Huawei brought a proper bundle to its autumn show in Munich. At once, it unveiled a completely new Watch 6 lineup and, on top of that, set the Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro watches loose into the world—until then, they had only existed on the domestic Chinese market. The interesting part is that the “cheaper” GT 7s have an edge in some ways, especially in how long they last on a single charge.

Watch 6: the lightest watches Huawei has ever made

The main draw of the new lineup is the weight. The smaller 42 mm Watch 6 weighs 38 grams without the strap, making it the lightest watch in the brand’s history. You can choose between 42 and 46 mm body sizes, with the base model available in an aluminum alloy or stainless steel. The Pro version goes a step further: the 46 mm variant comes with a titanium case (Space, Silver and Brown editions), while the 43 mm version gets nanoceramics in Ceramic and White.

In all cases, the display is a round LTPO OLED under sapphire glass. The base Watch 6 reaches 3,000 nits peak brightness, while the Pro model goes up to 3,500 nits—bright enough to read clearly even in harsh summer sunlight. According to the GSMArena report, the watches support pairing with Android and iOS at the same time, offer over 100 sports modes, and optionally include eSIM.

The Watch 6 in the 42 mm version comes in white and rose gold, while the 46 mm version comes in blue and black. The top Watch 6 Pro comes with two special editions: the ceramic and the titanium Space Edition.

X-Tap 2.0: place your finger—after a moment you’ll know 14 things about your health

The X-Tap sensor on the side of the case is nothing new for Watch 5 owners, but in the sixth generation it gets a serious upgrade. The optical PPG module works with 12 channels instead of the original four, and pressure sensitivity has increased from ten to twenty levels. Practically, that means that with a single touch of your finger you start a measurement that evaluates 14 health metrics at once.

Besides that, the watches measure the classics: heart rate, blood oxygen saturation, sleep, ECG, heart rate variability, and breathing during sleep. However, it has to be said fairly: these are fitness-tracking features, not a medical device—and they won’t make a diagnosis for your doctor.

Battery life on the Watch 6 is rather average. The 42 and 43 mm versions handle three days of normal use and a week in power-saving mode; the larger 46 mm model gives you 4.5 days, or 11 days when conserving power. That’s exactly where the GT 7s come into play.

Watch GT 7 and GT 7 Pro head out into the world with battery life of 21 days

The GT 7 series has only been sold in China so far, and is now making its way onto European shelves. You can get the base model in a 41 mm case with a 1.32-inch AMOLED display or in a 46 mm version with a 1.47-inch diagonal; both variants can reach up to 3,000 nits of brightness. The Pro model is available exclusively in 46 mm and is built on a titanium alloy case with a nanocrystalline ceramic bezel and sapphire glass.

The strongest argument is the battery. The 46 mm models last up to 21 days with undemanding use and twelve days with typical use; in a trail running mode with active navigation, they manage 51 hours. The smaller 41 mm version gives 14, or seven days. GSMArena editorial staff, which already has the GT 7 Pro in for testing, lists the weight at just over 55 grams and a thickness of 11 millimeters. So they’re noticeably bulkier than the Watch 6 and aren’t suitable for a petite wrist. They’re still charged via their own magnetic pad with a USB-A cable, not via USB-C.

Skiing—even indoors: the watch handles downhill without a GPS signal

The most interesting software update is winter sports tracking. The watch detects skiing and snowboarding based on changes in body position and altitude, so for measurement it doesn’t need a GPS signal. That’s why it works even in indoor arenas where satellite reception isn’t available. In that case, it records the type of turns, their count, and frequency, tracks your route, and also captures the perceived strain.

Outdoors, the watch monitors top speed, average slope incline, total elevation gain, and time spent on the lift. In its memory, it stores maps of more than 3,000 ski resorts in 59 countries, including the difficulty level of individual runs. Position accuracy is handled by the Sunflower system with an AI-XDR algorithm and dual-band GNSS. The Pro version also adds ECG and expanded cardiovascular health tracking, which the basic GT 7 doesn’t have.

When and for how much

In Europe, the Watch GT 7 starts at €299 for the base configuration, the 41 mm white version costs 319 €, and Huawei charges 429 € for the GT 7 Pro. The Watch 6 goes on sale September 23; the Space and Ceramic Pro editions are priced at 679 € in Europe. So the difference is significant—and worth thinking about: you can get the GT 7 Pro for less than two-thirds the price of the Watch 6 Pro and you’ll get nearly double the battery life.

For the Slovak market, the important thing is that the GT 7 and GT 7 Pro line is already listed on Huawei’s Slovak page among the offered watches. We verified this 3. September 2026. You won’t find Watch 6 there yet, so we’ll have to wait a bit longer for its official sale here. And when it comes to Huawei watches, they don’t run into a problem that makes life harder for the company with phones: they work with both Android and iPhone, and the absence of Google services doesn’t bother them.
