Lankeleisi is a brand that has been featuring on our site quite often in recent months. The young Chinese company wants to bring those already well-known Chinese fat bikes in a new, never-before-seen style—and one of them is the Lankeleisi X3000 Max.
We looked at this high-end model from the brand to see whether it is really worth almost two thousand. After all, it's a flagship with two powerful electric motors, quality hydraulic brakes, and an unusual tall and massive front fork.

Unboxing takes some effort
Lankeleisi X3000 Max arrives in a massive box—we had two people tackle it, and we recommend unboxing this bike with the help of another person, because it’s quite a chunk of iron, or rather aluminum. According to the manufacturer, the bike is assembled at 90%, and as is typical with bikes like this, some screws needed to be tightened, then you install the front wheel, handlebars, seat, pedals, the front light, and a few other small parts.
We're not sure whether the bike was assembled 90%, because putting it together took us about 30 – 40 minutes even as a pair. An interesting detail is the front light, which is packed separately in the box, since it's an unusually massive lamp unlike anything we've seen on another Chinese bike yet.
We rate the highly detailed manual very positively, as it includes detailed assembly images as well as a guide to the P settings on the display. The package also includes a pump, a lock, and sets of keys needed for assembly.
You'll fall in love at first sight
After fully assembling the dark-orange beast, you’ll definitely fall for it at first glance. Design-wise, the Lankeleisi X3000 Max really did a great job—the front dominant fork looks great together with the thick tires, and it will definitely make some people take a step back before they even get on.
We got the bike in the black-and-orange version, and the seller also has it on the website in fully black. That one looks very interesting too, but we personally like this version more.
Classic folding frame
Naturally, it also comes with a folding feature that practically every electric fat bike from China has. The Lankeleisi X3000 Max uses almost the same folding method as, for example, Engwe. Handling it can be a bit of a challenge though, because it weighs as much as 37 kg.
On the lower frame, there’s a small key that secures the battery, but it’s only for mechanical locking. You can turn the bike on even without it. The battery can be removed from the frame. The handlebars are fixed and can’t be folded in any way.
Full suspension, adjustable fork
The large front fork with an oil-spring dual-crown damper that can be locked does a very good job together with the rear HLT shock, which should handle up to 200 kg of load on the frame.
During testing, though, the front fork produced rattling sounds, and we weren’t able to eliminate them. We tightened all the screws we could, but it apparently comes from the bike’s construction and can’t be removed. However, it has no way of affecting the ride.
Thick branded tires with an unconventional rim
Chinese people love fat tires. Just look at the portfolio of electric bikes from brands like Engwe, Lankeleisi, or DUOTTS—most come with 4-inch tires. They’re not as popular on our market, but if we want a truly powerful e-bike, we need to accept that.
From the factory, the Lankeleisi X3000 Max comes with branded CHAOYANG tires sized 20×4″. A very nice design detail, in our opinion, is the perforated rim, through which you can see the orange inner tire. This is a novelty for us in Chinese fat bikes.
In our view, these kinds of electric bikes with fat tires are exclusively for an enjoyable ride for those who won’t rip the pedals while pedaling—and they’re great for Slovak sidewalks, which, let’s be honest, in most towns are in a bad state. With these tires and suspension, you can cross a curb without braking, and no pothole is a problem.
Proper performance—something we’re not used to
With electric bikes, it’s absolutely not common to have motors rated at 1000 W—let alone having two of them! The Lankeleisi X3000 Max stands out especially thanks to its massive power hidden both at the front and the rear. The pull-off on this beast reminds us a bit of the Kaabo Wolf King GT Pro—on rocks and small stones, the front wheel has no problem firing stones during acceleration.
With this kind of power, the bike has no trouble conquering the steepest hills, and it also lets you turn the motors on/off whenever you need. We managed to record a top speed on flat ground, but only 45 km/h (the test rider weighs 78 kg).
But in our opinion, it has a bigger potential…
Personally, we expected a little more from the max speed, since the combined rated power is as high as 2000 W. Still, this speed is respectable within the electric fat bike segment. The bike likely has a speed limiter in the controller that keeps it from going faster.
Ride feel – too few gears
The riding feel and—above all—comfort while riding are key factors when choosing a bike. Many Chinese riders end up with small designs, and we Europeans are simply left hunched and crooked on the bike. However, the Lankeleisi X3000 Max has a sufficiently large frame and is suitable even for taller people.
The handlebar width is ideal too, so riding comfort is exactly what you’d expect from a bike at this price. What, however, bothered us most “was eaten up” by the fact that the bike has only 7 gears. That’s sadly too few for a performance bike that can easily reach 40 km/h. Already in the second or third speed mode, after a few seconds you’re basically pedaling in place on the highest gear. But this is a problem with all Chinese fat bikes.
A branded Samsung battery
What we like to see on electric bikes, but also on scooters, are branded battery cells. They ensure the battery lasts a long time and significantly reduce the risk of malfunctions, automatic device shutdown at lower voltages (the previous issue with Laotie), or fast wear of the cells. Inside the frame there is a 20 Ah Samsung cell with a voltage of 48 V.
The battery can be mechanically secured with a key and removed without any issues.
The package includes a 3 A charger, which will take about 6 hours to charge the bike. Of course, it depends on the condition of the bike when it’s charging, but we recommend charging at the 20 – 30 % range. Only 1 connector is available, so dual charging isn’t possible.
Real range
Of course, we also tested the range on this scooter. The manufacturers traditionally publish often-exaggerated numbers, measured with a light rider, at low speeds around 25 km/h, and at an ideal temperature. We know that hardly anyone from our fan base rides under such conditions—and nobody is going to ride on this bike at just 25 km/h.
That’s why we tested the range at the highest drive mode 5 without pedaling, with two motors—and we really put the bike through its paces: there were hills and, quite often, maximum speed. Using a speedometer, with a rider weight of about 78 kg, we measured a range of 39 km.
That’s a pretty expected result for a 20 Ah battery, considering the bike has two motors. You could definitely reach 70 kilometers without any issues using one motor, at a lower average speed, and of course with pedal assist.
High-quality brakes, massive calipers
Bringing this heavyweight to a stop like the Lankeleisi X3000 Max requires some real power. That’s why the manufacturer installed high-quality hydraulic disc brakes from DYISLANDDe with really huge red calipers—which immediately caught our attention right after taking the bike out of the box. They look great.
So even a rider with the stated maximum load of 180 kg shouldn’t have any problem braking quickly. First, though, you’ll need to fine-tune these brakes, because squeezing the levers feels a bit harder
Big LCD display, but a lousy throttle
Another thing we really like about this bike is its clear color LCD display, where you can see everything you need: battery status, mileage, and the current speed. It also offers plenty of settings options, which you’ll find in the manual.
On the left side of the handlebars, there’s a controller to activate power from the battery, as well as controls for the lights, turn signals, and the display.
But we won’t just praise everything— we don’t like the twist throttle on the handlebar and the handlebar material itself. It should be leather imitation, but to us the material feels quite stiff and looks like it will wear out easily. On the handlebars, we’d expect the opposite—more responsive, softer feedback. If even rubber grips can be excellent on an e-scooter for 900 € (Joyor S10-S), then this bike should have grips like that too.
Great front and rear lighting
The front light on the Lankeleisi X3000 Max is so large that the manufacturer had to pack it in a separate box. It’s a massive headlamp that illuminates the area perfectly in the dark. No one will need to order external lights from AliExpress anymore, because these are genuinely excellent.
The rear lighting also works as a braking indicator, and in the dark it gives the bike a really awesome look. Simply put: the Lankeleisi X3000 Max looks really good.
Final verdict: Lankeleisi X3000 Max
As is typical with our reviews, the ending calls for an assessment of the product. In some ways, the Lankeleisi X3000 Max exceeded our expectations, and in others it managed to not quite live up to them. A big plus is the massive power and acceleration—something you almost never see with electric bikes. We also give it credit for very good shifting and riding comfort, quality brakes, and overall the quality of the components used.
From a subjective point of view, the manufacturer also pulled off the bike’s design—it looks more like a motorcycle and feels massive. Behind this bike, more than one passer-by will definitely turn around.
These types of e-bikes are basically suitable for any kind of terrain. Their thick 20×4 inch tires handle curbs without any hesitation and also tackle big potholes, making them very usable in the city. On the other hand, they’re great for off-road too and won’t be scared by hills or bumps.
The main negatives are clearly that there are very few gears, and pedaling idle—practically immediately after you start moving. This issue could partially be solved by a torque sensor that would be able to meter the electric motor’s pull based on the pedal RPM, but that’s missing here. At a price level of almost 2000 €, we’d expect such equipment. We also miss a multi-speed shifter here.
