Slovak review: Dolby Atmos isn’t just for show
ULTIMEA Skywave F40 Boom also made it into the hands of the Slovak creator Vlada, who tested the whole system in a real living room with film Dolby Atmos demos. His impressions are very positive. According to him, the surround effect works convincingly, and the system truly separates individual sounds between the front soundbar and the rear speakers depending on where they should come from in the scene. In one of the demos, for example, you could clearly hear a car moving from the back part of the room toward the front, and during a scary movie scene, the rear effects surprised him so much that—according to his own words—he even got goosebumps.
They also positively rated the effect of upward-firing speakers that reflect the sound off the ceiling and add another dimension to surround sound. The overall rating was simply summed up — the system truly delivers what the technical specs promise. Dolby Atmos works, the effects’ direction is convincing, and for a price of around 200 €, it pleasantly exceeded expectations.
You can significantly customize the sound via the app
The only noticeable remark was that the bass needed a stronger setting—during the first test it was, to his taste, a bit too prominent. However, this isn’t a major issue since you can easily reduce the subwoofer intensity. The ULTIMEA app lets you adjust bass, the rear surround speakers, and the top channels separately depending on the room size or ceiling height. There are also preset modes like Music, Movie, Sport, Game, and Voice, along with a custom equalizer. The reviewer rated the ability to tailor individual parts of the setup as one of the strong points of the entire system.
Another big advantage is how it handles regular stereo audio, distributing it across multiple speakers. Of course, it can’t replace a native Dolby Atmos track, but for everyday content it can make better use of the entire 5.1 setup. The Slovak review confirms that ULTIMEA Skywave F40 Boom is interesting not only on paper — the spatial effect is very noticeable even in real use.
Bluetooth technology 5.4 and flexible connectivity
The latest Bluetooth 5.4 chip not only enables faster pairing with your smartphone or TV, but also improves signal stability and extends coverage. Compared to older versions, it delivers lower latency—something you’ll appreciate, for example, when gaming or watching movies without audio delay.
Besides Bluetooth connectivity, you’ll also find HDMI eARC, an optical input, and a USB port, so the Ultimea F40 handles modern TVs, consoles, and PCs with ease. Connectivity is top-tier and ensures versatile use at home.
8 speakers and real surround sound
One of the soundbar’s main advantages is the setup of 8 powerful drivers, creating a 5.1.2-channel surround sound system. In practice, that means it has not only front, center, and side speakers, but also upper and rear outputs for realistic Dolby Atmos effects that pull you right into the action.
Rear satellite speakers and “up-firing” speakers literally fill the ceiling with sound—so if you watch an Atmos-supported movie, you’ll hear helicopters or raindrops as if they were right above you.
BassMX technology and a separate subwoofer
The Ultimea Skywave F40 also includes a dedicated 5.25” subwoofer that, thanks to BassMX technology, delivers deep, punchy bass. You can also tailor it to your taste—via the app or the remote control you can adjust the bass level so it fits your room and your preferences.
The system is also modular, so you can place the rear and side speakers according to your room layout, boosting the overall home-cinema experience.
Control via a mobile app
The soundbar supports a smart app, where you can switch between modes like movie, music, or game mode. You can conveniently set everything from your phone, including volume, levels for highs, mids, or bass. No more long button-pressing on the remote—everything is right at your fingertips.
