The latest upgrade from the Chinese manufacturer, Realme UI 2.0, was officially announced alongside the launch of the new Realme Narzo 20 smartphones in India. In practice, it’s an enhanced version of the ColorOS 11 skin used on Oppo devices.

Realme UI 2.0 brings higher security

Thanks to Xu Qi, Realme’s marketing director, we know the skin is coming as early as October this year. He shared this on the Chinese social network Weibo. The company is especially proud that the new skin will offer users consistency, simplicity, and smooth performance.

Along with other interesting updates, the new interface is designed with maximum emphasis on security. After all, how could it be otherwise—security is very important in today’s world. New features will be added, allowing users to choose their own privacy settings. It’s also worth noting that the new skin will run on the latest Android 11, which was unveiled only recently.

A new smartphone is also coming

But that’s not all. The manufacturer is preparing yet another surprise – a new smartphone, apparently from the new Realme Q series. The expected specs are not known yet, but the new device will most likely run on the new Android 11 with a new Realme UI 2.0 custom skin.

The first to try the new skin will be owners of the Realme X50 Pro model. Unfortunately, at least for now only in China. From those who sign up, the company will select a few users who will actually receive the update and be able to test the new system among the first.

Full version in November, open beta already in October

This first beta version should be available for Chinese owners of Realme X50 Pro starting from 24. September. It should then be followed by the Realme 7 Pro models and the new Indian Realme Narzo 20, which will receive the update in November. You can see all the other announced smartphones in the roadmap below.

However, these dates show the release of the Beta version, and the final stable Realme UI 2.0 will be based on Android 11, which hasn’t been released yet. We can expect that some older models will also appear on the device list in the third quarter of 2021.

The mentioned Realme X50 Pro could get the new Android 11 update this year, but for now, it’s all just speculation. Are you excited about the new overlay from the Chinese manufacturer? Tell us in the comments what you like most about it.
