Baseus S1 Lite is an outdoor camera with a solar panel directly on the body, so you don’t have to charge it or run a cable from a socket. It records in 2K resolution with a 135° field of view; at night it enables color vision, and recordings are saved to a memory card without any subscription. In the official European Baseus e-shop, you can get it now for 45 €, i.e., for roughly the same amount you’d pay on Heureka for the popular IMILAB EC6, which, however, needs a power outlet.
An eye in your yard that charges its battery itself
The camera is sold directly by the official European Baseus store and ships from the EU warehouse, so you don’t pay customs duty or VAT. According to the shop, delivery to Slovakia can take 14 to 20 working days. For orders up to 60 €, shipping is 6.99 €, so it’s worth buying a set of two cameras, where shipping is free and one camera comes out a bit cheaper.

Buyers praise the solar panel even in winter
On the European Baseus online store, the S1 Lite has a rating of 4,96 out of 5 from 45 reviews, and as many as 43 buyers gave it full stars. A customer from Poland says that a few hours of direct sunlight charges the camera for several more days, and advises that if you have it turned in a direction where the sun doesn’t shine directly on it, you can buy a separate solar panel for it. A buyer from Latvia, on the other hand, praises that the panel works well even in winter and the image is sharp.
Many appreciate that installation and pairing with the app take only a few minutes. One customer from Portugal has a valid drawback: without a memory card, the camera doesn’t work as you’d expect, and it reliably detects motion at roughly up to ten meters—so you need to mount it closer to the spot you want to watch. A buyer from Slovenia would welcome the option to connect directly to the camera without Wi‑Fi, for example in a chat without internet.
For the price of Imilab, but without the cable
Among our readers, one of the most popular outdoor cameras is IMILAB EC6, which you can buy on Heureka for under 50 €, so for a similar price as Baseus. It has higher 3K resolution and a pan-tilt head, but it’s powered via an adapter with a three-meter cable, so you can place it only where you have an outdoor socket. You can hang the Baseus S1 Lite on a fence, a garden shed, or a cabin that has no electricity, because it’s powered by the sun.

If you need a camera for a place where you can’t reach electricity, or you don’t feel like drilling through a wall because of the cable, go for the S1 Lite. Imilab makes sense where you already have a socket and want the camera’s rotation to cover the whole yard.
2K image and field of view 135°
The camera records in 2K (2,304 pixels wide) with a 135° viewing angle, which is enough for the entire entrance, driveway, or a larger part of the garden. When you need to see details, an 8× digital zoom helps—according to the manufacturer, you can read a vehicle license plate from a distance of about eight meters.
The camera captures 15 frames per second, which is enough for a security camera, but don’t expect smooth video like on an action camera. You can view recordings in the Baseus Security app, where you can also set the zones the camera should track movement in—and the areas it should mask for privacy, for example your neighbor’s yard
In color at night, with a spotlight
When moving in the dark, a reflector with a luminous flux of 100 lm turns on, and the camera records in color—so on the footage you can recognize the color of a jacket and cars. Without the reflector, it switches to black-and-white night vision with six infrared LEDs that illuminate at about six meters.
Face recognition runs directly in the camera, so the app sends you a notification when a person arrives—rather than reacting to every movement of tree branches in the wind. With the built-in microphone and speaker, you can talk to the courier or a visitor, and you can control the camera with your voice via Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant.
It only needs two hours of sunshine per day
The camera has a battery with a capacity of 5 200 mAh, and according to the manufacturer, it provides up to a full day with approximately 2.25 hours of sunshine per day. When it’s cloudy for several days, the camera runs on battery power, so you don’t have to take it down and charge it like with cheap cameras without a panel.
The camera has a rating of IP67 and works at temperatures from −20 to 50 °C, so rain, snow, and summer heat won’t hurt it. You can mount it in a few minutes with the included mount and screws.
Record at home, with no monthly fees
Videos are saved to a microSD card with a capacity of up to 512 GB, which you have to buy separately, because it’s not included in the package. That means you don’t pay any monthly subscription for storage, and recordings are encrypted, so no one outside can access them. Baseus provides a 2-year warranty on the camera.
