Nothing Phone (3a): Mid-range with AMOLED and Glyph lighting

Nothing Phone (3a) measures 163.5 x 77.5 x 8.4 mm and weighs 201 grams. It is dust- and splash-water resistant thanks to an IP 64 certification. It is also sold in black, white, and blue color variants.

One interesting feature is the Glyph system—lighting on the back with 26 individually illuminated zones. These can be used as visual notifications, a charging indicator, or animations to make listening to music more enjoyable. There’s also a new Essential Space feature that uses AI to organize content such as screenshots, notes, and photos into a clear display.

The device features a large 6,77″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 2392 x 1080 pixels, which translates to a sharp 387 ppi. The screen supports HDR10+, 10-bit colors with over a billion shades, and an adaptive refresh rate up to 120 Hz. Maximum brightness reaches up to 3000 nits, and the display is protected by Panda Glass.

The smartphone is powered by a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 octa-core processor manufactured using a 4-nanometer technology. The graphics performance is handled by the Adreno 710 GPU. It’s also paired with 8 / 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128 / 256 GB of internal storage. There’s no memory card slot.

50 MPx camera, 5000 mAh battery, and software updates

The main sensor has a resolution of 50 MPx, an f/1.9 aperture, optical image stabilization (OIS), and support for fast autofocus (PDAF). The secondary 50 MPx telephoto lens offers 2x optical zoom, while the third 8 MPx ultra-wide lens covers up to 120°. The front camera has a 32 MPx resolution and an f/2.2 aperture. There’s also video support in 4K at 30 fps and 1080p up to 120 fps.

In terms of connectivity, the Nothing Phone (3a) supports 5G networks (SA/NSA), Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC with Google Pay support, and a USB-C port with OTG. The device also has an optical fingerprint sensor built under the display, as well as other sensors such as a gyroscope, accelerometer, proximity sensor, and a compass.

A long-lasting battery is taken care of by a 5000 mAh capacity pack, which supports fast wired charging with power of up to 50 W. That means your smartphone can go to 50% in 19 minutes and reach full charge in 56 minutes. There’s also reverse wired charging with 7.5 W. The operating system is Android 15 with the Nothing OS 3.1 interface. The manufacturer guarantees three years of major Android updates and six years of security updates.
