- Fabrizio Romano has a paid partnership with OPPO
- At a Champions League match he shot with the phone Find X10 Pro Max
- On Instagram, 51 million people follow him
- OPPO is a partner of the Champions League until season 2026/27
If you follow football, you know the phrase „Here we go!“ Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirms transfers with it, and on Instagram he’s followed by 51 million people—making him, by follower count, the biggest football journalist in the world. This time, though, he didn’t announce a player transfer; instead, he shared his own collaboration with the brand OPPO, for which he shot the Champions League match right by the pitch with the new OPPO Find X10 Pro Max.
“Here we go” for OPPO this time
Romano shared a post on 21 October, on the day of the global premiere of the Find X10 series, and labeled it as a paid partnership with OPPO’s official account. He wrote that he made “a big step by the pitch” and in the evening in the Champions League he captured the phone with—according to OPPO—the first on the market to carry three 200MPx cameras. In less than two weeks, the post gained over 535 thousand likes and hundreds of comments.
It’s an ad, which Romano also admits with the hashtag #adv, so it doesn’t mean he switched to OPPO permanently. For the Chinese brand, however, it’s a big catch—because Roman’s posts are seen by tens of millions of fans who would otherwise just skip the phone ad.
OPPO is at home in the Champions League
The collaboration with Romano builds on the sponsorship OPPO has been developing since 2022. Back then, as the first Chinese brand, it became a partner of the Champions League, and in 2024 the deal with UEFA was extended by another three seasons—up to the 2026/27 season. According to UEFA, OPPO is also the official partner of the Super Cup, the Youth League, and the UEFA Futsal Champions League.
That’s why, during matches, you see OPPO’s logo on advertising boards around the stadium pitch, and every season the brand runs campaigns around the idea that its phones capture football atmosphere from the venue. Romano’s post with the hashtag #OPPOxUCL27 fits right in—only this time with a face fans recognize better than most players.
What the phone he shot with can do
Find X10 Pro Max has a main, an ultra-wide, and a periscope camera—each with a resolution of 200 Mpx—Hasselblad-tuned optics, and a battery capacity of 8000 mAh. In Slovakia, you can buy it officially starting from 1 629 €, which we described in the article about the Slovak prices of the Find X10 series. The Chinese version is in our editorial office for testing, and below are two of our evening photos taken with it, because evening matches under stadium lights are the biggest test for a phone’s camera.
You can find out more about how to shoot with it and what it handles in Slovak in our article about the CN version of the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max. The global version has also arrived in our partner’s warehouse, as we wrote in the article about the global OPPO Find X10 Pro Max.
