OnePlus is preparing more top-tier wireless earbuds. The OnePlus Buds Pro model should directly compete with the well-known earbuds labeled Apple AirPods Pro.
OnePlus Buds Pro ako priama konkurencia pre Apple AirPods Pro
Just a few days ago, the manufacturer itself confirmed to us that in just a few days—specifically on July 22, 2021—it will launch its latest “true-wireless” earbuds OnePlus Buds Pro together with an affordable smartphone OnePlus Nord 2 5G. It seems the Chinese manufacturer wants to directly compete with the well-known Apple AirPods Pro earbuds.
The manufacturer has now revealed a new feature of these earbuds and promises they will also come with a function for adaptive suppression of ambient noise. So the earbuds will offer a certain form of reduction of background noise, but they won’t include active noise cancellation that flagship models from competing brands offer.
However, we’ll only learn the real performance of these earbuds after the manufacturer presents them officially. Another important feature that OnePlus will offer is battery life. It was announced that the battery itself has been improved, and the resulting runtime will be up to 38 hours on a single charge (with adaptive noise suppression turned off).
Fast charging from OnePlus won’t be missing either. In just 10 minutes of charging, we should get 10 hours of music playback. As for the design, there will be a matte black color option with glossy metal elements. This finish should resist dirt, dust, and sweat better.
The earbuds should look quite significantly like the Apple model, which could cause potential issues at customs—something we’ve encountered in the past at the American border. This happened with the original OnePlus Buds.
Price and product availability
Once released, these earbuds will be the main competition for Apple AirPods Pro, but also for Samsung Galaxy Buds 2. We expect the selling price of these earbuds to be below 150 US dollars (about €127), but we’ll only know the exact figure after the presentation.
OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, who left the company just at the beginning of this year, founded a new brand called Nothing. It should also bring its first wireless earbuds to the market this month. In addition, the price of these earbuds is supposed to be only 99 US dollars (€83). We’ll see how OnePlus does even against such extraordinary competition.
