Smart thermostatic heads are one of the few things in a smart home that truly pay off — you heat when you’re at home, not empty from morning to evening. From the brand EZAIoT, it differs from typical Chinese heads mainly in the display: it has a large high-contrast VA panel where you can read the set temperature even from the other side of the room. And what’s important is that it comes in two versions — Wi-Fi and Zigbee, so you can choose depending on whether you have a smart hub at home or not.
You can find the EZAIoT smart thermostatic head at the trusted seller EZAIOT EU Store on AliExpress. They’re stocked in both Europe and China, so check the availability of the specific variant carefully. From China, you need to pay customs duty of 3.69 €, delivery is about 15 days, and from the EU warehouse delivery is duty-free for about 5 – 10 days.

What do our readers say after real use?
We wanted to see how smart thermostatic heads work over the long term in real households, so we looked at our readers’ experiences directly from comments on our China Planet Facebook page. This is also one of the reasons it’s worth keeping an eye on it — under the posts you can often find real user experiences from people who have been using these products for months or even years. So it’s not our own test of the specific EZAIoT head, but feedback from people who use similar solutions across one or more heating seasons. Many experiences are positive. For example, Martin says he has been using the smart heads for the fourth winter, another reader has their second season, and a TP-Link solution user reports that the savings are even noticeable on the bill.
However, there are also things worth considering before you buy. The biggest topic is compatibility with the radiator valve — one reader had to return the head due to an issue with an Oventrop valve, where the heating remained fully open, while another needed to purchase the right reducers. With Siemens and Elektrobock models, people also mentioned the audible motor when regulating the valve. There was also a rare software issue where the head would not stop heating, and only removing and reinserting the batteries fixed it. Community experience therefore suggests that smart thermostatic heads can work reliably for years and help you heat more efficiently, but before ordering, be sure to verify the valve type and the availability of the correct reducer. Wi-Fi or Zigbee? This is the main difference
Wi-Fi version connects directly to your home network and doesn’t require anything else — you just download the Tuya Smart or Smart Life app, add the head, and you’re done. It’s ideal if you want to install one or two heads and you don’t have any smart hub at home. The downside of Wi-Fi is higher battery usage, and with ten heads it will unnecessarily load your router.
Zigbee version requires a Tuya Zigbee hub, but in return you get a more stable and energy-saving solution—Zigbee devices build a network with each other, and the batteries last significantly longer. If you already have a hub at home or you plan to set up multiple rooms at once, go for Zigbee. Both versions work with Alexa, Google Home, and Yandex Alice, and they’re controlled from the same app.

Fits 97 % of radiators; adapters are included in the package
The basic thread is M30 × 1.5 mm, which is the most common standard, and the package includes six adapters for Danfoss RA, RAV, and RAVL valves, Caleffi, Giacomini, and others. The manufacturer states compatibility with 97% of common valves—so in practice, you’ll almost certainly be able to fit it to a Slovak radiator without a plumber.
Installation takes just a few minutes—you unscrew the old head by hand, screw on the new one, and the head calibrates the valve lift itself. The display can be rotated 180 degrees, so it also works where the valve points downward and the head hangs upside down. Power is provided by three AA penlight batteries.
Six temperature changes per day and a vacation mode
The most useful feature is a weekly schedule with six events per day—in the morning before you get up 20 °C, during the day 15 °C, warm again in the late afternoon, and reduced heating at night. In addition, you get ECO modes, anti-freeze protection, full open, manual setting, and an auto mode that follows the schedule.
A nice touch is the vacation mode, where you enter the number of days you’ll be away, and the head keeps only the anti-freeze temperature the whole time. When the period ends, it automatically returns to the normal schedule. Setting accuracy is 0.5 °C, the range is 5 to 35 °C, and temperature calibration can be adjusted by ±10 °C if your head measures differently than you’d expect.

Turns off the heating when you open a window
The head monitors the temperature trend, and when it detects a sudden drop, it evaluates it as an open window and temporarily closes the valve. This is exactly the feature that saves the most during winter ventilation—without it, the radiator under an open window keeps heating at full power and tries to catch up to a temperature it will never reach.
Other small but useful details include a child lock you can activate by holding the middle button for three seconds, and silent operation—the manufacturer lists the motor noise at around 30 dB, which is about a whisper level. So in the bedroom, the night temperature change won’t wake you. The head can handle the radiator surface temperature up to 90 °C, so it works even with an older system with higher water temperatures.
