After a fairly long wait, filled with various leaks in the form of renders and specifications, we finally have the official launch date for the new Huawei Mate 40 series.
The Huawei Mate 40 series arrives on 22. October
The new Huawei Mate 40 series is coming to us soon. The online conference that you can also watch will take place on 22 October. But what also leaked before the actual smartphone launch were its color variants.
Another, not entirely new, is the return of the popular RS Porsche Edition model. As for the smartphone’s color variants, there will be 5 right away.
From the leaks, we learned that the RS Porsche Edition model will offer a ceramic back. There was also mention of the Huawei Mate 40 Pro Plus model, but for now we more or less don’t know anything else.
Of course, both models from the new Mate 40 series—featuring the regular Huawei Mate 40 and Mate 40 Pro—will be available in those colors. They will include colors named Bright Black, Cosmic Silver, Pearl White, Hue Green, and we’ll also get a yellow color, which will debut at the same time.
The new Mate 40 series smartphones should come with a curved OLED display along with a dual cutout in the top-left corner. It should also support the TOF 3D technology, which is used to unlock the display via face recognition.
The base model, the Mate 40, will likely offer a set of three sensors with the announced curved display, while the more powerful model should come with four, and the most premium Mate 40 Pro Plus will offer up to 5 rear sensors.
Additionally, we can expect the flagship chipset to debut in the form of the Kirin 9,000. This will be the current top-of-the-line in terms of processors. With the 5 nm manufacturing technology, we shouldn’t have to worry about enough performance.
The smartphones will run on the latest EMUI 11, which will probably be based on Android 11. However, it’s possible that the base model of the new series will get only EMUI 10.1 for now, and will of course be updated later.
