The iQOO Z1 5G model brings premium specs for a low price, such as a powerful processor Dimensity 1000+, 144 Hz display or a large 4,500 mAh battery with 44 W charging. This was just a small taste of what we can look forward to with this smartphone.

An extremely smooth display
The young iQOO brand is already well known among smartphone enthusiasts thanks mainly to its favorable pricing policy. Its motto—great value for money and performance—this manufacturer keeps at the top of its strategy.
The front is made by a large 6.57" IPS LCD display with a standard resolution Full HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels). It also includes support for the DCI-P3 color gamut and HDR 10+.
A parameter that makes this display stand out from the usual lineup is the implementation of a 144 Hz refresh rate. Thanks not only to these specs, it will be a very strong competitor.
An interesting piece of information that the manufacturer itself shared is that currently, for the 144 Hz display, more than 100,000 applications are already optimized—including popular gaming titles.
So you can use the full potential of that beautiful, smooth 144 Hz with no worries. The operating system is then the latest Android 10 with its own custom skin iQOO UI 1.0.
The first one with Mediatek Dimensity 1000+
The performance, specifically the processor used, is probably the most discussed area of the smartphone. It comes from the factory of the well-known company Mediatek, which has attracted criticism lately after all.
Despite its “dark” past, Mediatek has bounced back and brings a new lineup of powerful Mediatek Dimensity processors. The interesting part is that iQOO is the very first smartphone to carry Dimensity 1000 with the “plus” label.
So under the hood of the iQOO Z1 5G you get an octa-core processor labeled Mediatek Dimensity 1000+, which goes up against Qualcomm’s flagship—Snapdragon 865 5G.
The job of the graphics chip is handled by the Mali-G77 MP, which together with this processor scored an excellent 536,683 points in the AnTuTu benchmark. There’s also 5G support for both SIM cards, but you won’t find an SD card slot here.
As for memory configurations, the new smartphone is available in 6/128, 8/128, and 8/256 GB. The memory modules are the same across all configurations—RAM LPDDR4X and internal storage UFS 3.1.
The manufacturer also thought seriously about dedicated gamers and built special liquid cooling into its latest smartphone, which can reduce temperatures by up to 10°C.
Mid-range cameras
The home of the 16 MPx selfie camera is a cutout in the top-left corner of the display. The back is made up of a trio of vertically aligned sensors, which come with the following resolutions.
Main sensor features a 48 MPx resolution sensor, complemented by an 8 MPx ultra-wide sensor with a 112° field of view, and the last of the trio is a 4 MPx macro lens that can focus at a minimum distance of 4 cm.
The cameras offer features like Hyper HDR, human eye tracking, night mode, video in 4K or 1080p slow-motion.
Battery and connectivity
The iQOO Z1 5G smartphone is powered by a battery with a large capacity of 4,500 mAh, which also supports fast 44 W charging. You’ll have plenty of power for multiple days.
For connectivity, the smartphone includes a Dual SIM slot with 5G support, Wi‑Fi 6, NFC, GPS, a USB Type‑C connector, and a popular 3.5 mm jack. The top and bottom parts belong to a pair of stereo speakers, while the side houses the fingerprint sensor.
A really great price
As we mentioned, iQOO’s pricing policy is very consumer-friendly, and that’s reflected in the final price. Depending on the memory variants, the prices for the Chinese iQOO Z1 5G smartphone are as follows:
- 6 GB RAM + 128 GB storage – 2,198 yuan = €282 / $309
- 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage – 2,498 yuan = €321 / $351
- 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage – 2,798 yuan = €360 / $394
The smartphone’s specs are truly top-tier, and together with the attractive price it’s one of the best mid-to-upper-range smartphones—and we could even argue it reaches into the highest class.
