We tried it, and for the price it’s really worth it
A stick vacuum for wet and dry use—i.e., a vacuum and mop in one. The Jimmy HW9 handles its main job well. The manufacturer doesn’t specify suction power, as is common with some of its other models, but it’s enough and it vacuums effectively. It works just as well for mopping.
The vacuum cleaner package is really rich. It even includes the original cleaning solution from Jimmy. For vacuums, we recommend using only products designed for this purpose or distilled water, to avoid clogging the tubes.
How does it mop?
We tested the vacuum by first vacuuming the floor and only then mopping it. When it comes to stain cleaning, the rotating roller combined with water spraying has no problem washing away common kitchen stains after cooking or smaller spots from liquids. However, it could struggle with an older, sticky stain; in that case, you’ll have to go over the floor manually.
We can rate the mopping as very decent, and at home we completely replaced the manual mop with this vacuum cleaner.
A lot of work when cleaning
For us, the biggest downside after wet vacuuming is cleaning the vacuum cleaner. Wet dirt, dust, and hair are the worst to clean. We therefore recommend removing all parts of the vacuum cleaner after vacuuming and letting them dry first, of course except for the water container, which needs to be emptied immediately.
After the dirt has dried, the vacuum cleaner is easier to clean. You need to clean all parts of the tank, as well as the suction inlet at the rotating roller, or the suction inlets at the containers where wet dirt collects.
The stand has a self-cleaning roller function, but it basically just means that the roller rubs against the plastic part of the stand while rotating, which more or less rinses/cleans it.
The battery life is genuinely the one the manufacturer states for the standard cleaning mode. The display shows the remaining cleaning time right away, and it basically matches. With a full charge, the vacuum cleaner lasts for about 30 minutes.
JIMMY HW9: Cordless stick vacuum with 300 W and a mop
The design of this vacuum cleaner is a stick type, with tanks positioned on the front side and a battery cell at the top, above the handle. JIMMY HW9 offers dimensions of 27 x 24,2 x 113,5 centimetres and a total weight of just 6,2 kilograms. You can fold the head down to a horizontal position (e.g. under furniture), and the design offers IP X8 certification.
Power is provided by a 300 W electric motor, which offers maximum runtime of up to 30 minutes on a single charge (use on hard floors), or 20 minutes on a single charge (carpet vacuuming mode). The clean water tank capacity is 400 ml and the dirty water tank capacity is also 400 ml.
Sterilization and cleaning in the charging station
This means that this vacuum cleaner also includes a mop function for wiping the floor. The cordless stick vacuum can also vacuum various liquids, and it has a cleaning function in the charging station, which ensures proper care after you finish cleaning.
The sterilization and bacteria-elimination mode with up to 99.9% bacteria removal can be used alongside vacuuming, and you can also use a water spray or wet vacuuming. You can switch between the individual vacuuming modes using the physical buttons and check them along with battery life on the integrated LCD display.
In the box, you’ll find the vacuum itself, the JIMMY HW9, broken down into multiple parts, plus useful accessories. Specifically, this includes a battery cell, a power cable for plugging into the mains with a local connector (EU Plug, 220 – 240 V / 50 – 60 Hz). You’ll also get a charging and cleaning station, a bottle of detergent, as well as brushes to clean the structure, and a brief user manual—traditionally—in English.
