M3 Ultra shines thanks to the barometric altimeter, pressure gauge, and compass—making it ideal for outdoor activities like climbing or trail running.
The watch is rated IP69K against high-temperature splashing water (80°C) under strong pressure (100 bar), making it safe to swim, surf, or dive with it. With its water resistance of 5 ATM, it can handle depths up to 50 meters.
What’s interesting is that, similar to more expensive Garmin models (for example Forerunner 955 or Fenix), during swimming the watch measures so-called SWOLF scores for efficiency—this combines the number of strokes and the time it takes to swim one pool length.
