There’s no doubt that the Nothing Phone (1) will be a real highlight in the smartphone world. Now we know it will be defined by a 120 Hz display with an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner built directly underneath it. Reliable leaker Yogesh Brar has shared more leaked information.
Nothing Phone (1) will shine in the mid-range
According to the mentioned leaker, the in-display fingerprint scanner will be ultrasonic rather than optical. That will result in faster and more reliable unlocking, but tempered glass can also have issues with this scanner. At the same time, an ultrasonic fingerprint reader is mostly exclusive to expensive flagship smartphones, so it’s a nice surprise that it will be included in the Nothing Phone (1).
The price for the upcoming novelty is said to be in the range of $397 to $456. You can also expect a pretty solid camera setup for a relatively friendly price tag. More information suggests that the ultra wide-angle sensor will be able to serve for macro shots as well. That’s also why there are only two sensors on the back of the smartphone.
The company used one sensor for both ultra wide-angle shots and macro shots, thus saving some money on implementing a third camera dedicated exclusively to macro. But let’s be honest: even then, it would be used by only a minimum number of users. The primary sensor will have 50 MPx resolution, and the mentioned wide-angle sensor will be 16 MPx. On the front, you’ll find a 16 MPx “selfie” camera.
Finally, some proper revitalization in the market?
So the front will be dominated by an OLED display with a 6.55-inch diagonal and Full HD+ resolution. As we mentioned, the refresh rate is set at 120 Hz. Power will come from the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778+ processor, which also supports connection to the latest mobile 5G network.
Paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, it’s a well-equipped smartphone at a very nice price. Inside, you’ll get a 4 500 mAh battery with support for 33 W fast charging. In the box, you’ll find a 45 W charging adapter.
This accessory is slowly but surely disappearing from mid-range phone boxes too. The official unveiling is scheduled for 12 July, so we’ll definitely have something to look forward to in the next few days.
