OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, Honor Magic9 Pro Max, and vivo X500 Pro Max are three Chinese flagship photo phones that are sold today for practically the same money, and that’s why readers are asking which one to pick. In this comparison, we put them side by side parameter by parameter—from the display to the cameras, all the way to the battery, eSIM, and the system language. All three are offered by GShopper in the Chinese version, and the prices in the table are updated according to the pricing boxes, so you always see what you actually pay.
For now we’re comparing purely Chinese versions. OPPO also sells a global version of the Find X10 Pro Max, which—unlike the Chinese one—supports eSIM and comes with Google services right out of the box. We wrote more about it in the article about the global version. When global versions of Honor and vivo are added, we’ll include them in the comparison.
We have the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max right in the editorial office, so we also base our comparison on our own testing; for Honor and vivo, we rely on official specifications and our previous articles. The decision won’t be easy, because all three have a 8 000 mAh battery, top-end chips, and cameras with 200 Mpx resolution, but they differ in details that matter in practice.

Design and durability
All three phones have large round or square camera modules, and in terms of design they mainly differ by color and the materials used. OPPO offers Moon White, Warm Orange, and Light Titanium, Honor has green, silver, and black, and vivo has black and white. In terms of durability, Honor leads with IP68, IP69 and IP69K, OPPO has IP66, IP68 and IP69 and vivo has IP68 and IP69.

vivo X500 Pro Max
No one clearly wins in design, so it’s purely a matter of personal taste—but if you care about maximum resistance to water and dust, you’ll choose Honor.

Display
The largest and sharpest display is on the vivo X500 Pro Max, which offers a 6.85″ diagonal, 3168 × 1440 px resolution, a 144 Hz refresh rate, and—according to the manufacturer—up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness. Honor has a 6.8″ LTPO panel with a dynamic refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz and—according to the manufacturer—achieves up to 10,000 nits of brightness in a small portion of the image during HDR video. OPPO, with a 6.78″ display and 2772 × 1272 px resolution, offers a refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz and in games it increases to 144 Hz.

So for image quality, the best choice is vivo, because as the only one it offers 2K resolution—but the difference versus the two competitors won’t be noticeable at first glance.
Performance and chip
OPPO and vivo use the same MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chip made with a 2 nm process, so performance will be very similar and the difference will come more from software and cooling. Honor went with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6, which is also a 2 nm chip, with cores clocked up to 5 GHz, and at AnTuTu—before the premiere—it already exceeded the 5,5 million points threshold. The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max with Dimensity 9600 Pro was labeled by our editor during testing as insanely fast, and vivo has the same chip too.

So when it comes to performance, there’s no point looking for an outright winner— all three phones handle any game without problems and also regular everyday use.

Cameras
OPPO Find X10 Pro Max is the first phone in the world with three 200 Mpx cameras: a main, an ultra-wide, and a telephoto with 3× zoom, tuned in collaboration with Hasselblad. Honor has two 200 Mpx sensors: a main large 1/1.28″ with an f/1.57 aperture and a periscope with an 85 mm focal length, plus color tuning from ARRI and LogC3 video recording. Vivo relies on a 50 Mpx main sensor and a 200 Mpx periscope tuned with ZEISS, and its front camera is the only one in the trio to offer optical stabilization.

Main camera: The same-sized sensor, three different approaches
For photo enthusiasts, it’s interesting that all three main cameras have the same 1/1.28″ sensor diagonal. The difference, then, isn’t chip size, but resolution, optics, stabilization, and image processing.
OPPO Find X10 Pro Max uses a 200 Mpx Samsung ISOCELL HPC sensor with DeepPix technology, a 24 mm focal-length lens, an f/1.5 aperture, and optical stabilization. Of the trio, it has the brightest aperture, so in low light it lets the most light reach the sensor. OPPO claims a dynamic range of 17 EV per single shot. It processes the image with the LUMO True Image Engine, which isn’t meant to brighten the entire scene, but to preserve the natural light-to-shadow ratio and add fewer details using AI. The Tide Engine scheduler reduces the pause between two shots at full 200 Mpx resolution to 0.7 seconds.
Honor Magic9 Pro Max also has 200 Mpx, a 23 mm focal length, and an f/1.57 aperture. Its strongest feature is stabilization at a CIPA 8.0 level, which Honor compares to a gimbal. According to the manufacturer, it compensates for tilt of up to 3 degrees. Noise removal is handled by Honor’s own image chip, Honor H1, already in RAW data—before the final photo is assembled. ARRI handles the color tuning of all three rear cameras.
vivo X500 Pro Max takes a different approach, and its main camera has a “mere” 50 MP. The Sony LYTIA L910 sensor was developed by vivo together with Sony; it has an aperture of f/1.57, a dynamic range of 17 EV, and LOFIC technology, designed to suppress overexposed highlights—for example, with night lamps or against-the-light skies. The optics are coated with ZEISS T* for reduced reflections. Stabilization is gimbal-based with a three-degree range, and two custom chips, V3+ and VS1, process the footage.
If you want to crop photos, 200 MP sensors from OPPO and Honor will give you more headroom. In low light, OPPO’s brightest aperture helps; with Honor, the best stabilization does. vivo focuses on light control and dynamic range, which you’ll appreciate in scenes with big contrast.
Telephoto lens: 70 mm, or portrait 85 mm
All three telephoto lenses have 200 MP, but they differ in focal length. OPPO offers a 70 mm lens, meaning triple zoom, brightness f/2.1, and CIPA 7.5 stabilization. It focuses from 10 cm already, so you can use it for macro too. Honor and vivo both use a periscope with a portrait focal length of 85 mm and a 1/1.4″ sensor. Honor, with an aperture of f/2.6 and CIPA 8.0 stabilization, according to the GSMArena portal, delivers 3.7x optical zoom. vivo used a Samsung ISOCELL HP0 sensor, aperture f/2.67, ZEISS APO certification, and CIPA 7.0 stabilization.
For portraits and distant subjects, Honor and vivo’s 85 mm periscopes are better. OPPO’s shorter focal length is more versatile, and as the only one of the trio it also supports macro via the telephoto lens.
Ultra-wide camera and front camera
With the ultra-wide camera, OPPO has a clear advantage, since it has 200 MP as well: a 1/1.56″ sensor, a 124° field of view, and autofocus. Honor and vivo here have 50 MP with an f/2.0 aperture; Honor’s focal length is 12 mm. In front, Honor has a 55 MP camera with a square sensor, so you can shoot selfies in portrait, landscape, and 1:1 without rotating the phone. vivo has a 50 MP front camera with autofocus and optical stabilization, and OPPO has a 50 MP front camera with autofocus.
On paper, OPPO leads thanks to its three 200 MP cameras, but in practice image processing matters more than the numbers themselves. Our first photos from OPPO Find X10 Pro Max from late afternoon and evening turned out great, as we write in our first test, and you can see two evening shots below. Honor also has the best CIPA 8.0 stabilization, and for video creators, ARRI Looks—so if you film, it’s the most interesting choice.

Video: OPPO switches lenses in 8K, Honor offers ARRI and vivo 4K for 240 shots
OPPO Find X10 Pro Max records with all three rear cameras 4K at 60 fps and 120K at 8 fps, so you switch between lenses without losing quality. For video creators, it offers an O-Log30 profile with ACES certification, recording in Dolby Vision, and for the first time also an Open Gate mode that uses the entire sensor area. You can then crop the video for both landscape on YouTube and portrait for Reels without missing an important part of the shot.
Honor Magic9 Pro Max records on an ARRI LogC3 curve with a 10-bit color depth in the ARRI Wide Gamut 3 color space. If you don’t want to adjust colors in the editing suite, you can go for 87 official ARRI Looks or ARRI Master mode with presets for Venice and Movie Live. Movie Live records in the cinematic format 2,39:1 and after you press the shutter button it captures another three seconds. Sound is captured by a directional microphone that Honor calls a “film shotgun.”
vivo X500 Pro Max handles 8K at 30 fps and slow-motion 4K at 240 fps. On top of that, it adds a 10-bit recording with 4:2:2 encoding and support for the ACES color system, which is used in film post-production.

If you want to record and share right away, Honor is the most convenient thanks to ARRI Looks and a directional microphone. For switching lenses in 8K, OPPO is the best, and for slow-motion shots, vivo offers 4K at 240 fps.
Teleconverters: from the phone, almost a camera
All three manufacturers offer a snap-on teleconverter for their phones, which attaches in front of the telephoto lens and extends its focal length. For the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, GShopper sells the Hasselblad Telephoto Lens Kit with 3.28x optical zoom. The kit includes a telephoto lens, a protective bayonet cap, an adapter, a handle with a shutter button, a neck strap, and a case. In the box below, you’ll find it as a standalone variant under 237 €.
Honor Magic9 Pro Max supports two teleconverters. The larger G500 will extend the 85 mm telephoto lens to the equivalent of 500 mm, while the smaller G200 weighs 88 grams and gives an equivalent of 200 mm. A SmallRig cage with mounts for handles, lights, and microphones also fits for video creators, but everything is sold separately. For the vivo X500 Pro Max, you can additionally buy the ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra with an equivalent of 400 mm and a photo grip with physical buttons, including a shutter button.

Honor has the biggest reach with an equivalent of 500 mm; vivo tops out at 400 mm. With OPPO, the advantage is that you can buy the whole kit from the same seller as the phone.

Battery and charging
All three phones have a battery of at least 8 000 mAh, but Honor goes one step further with a typical capacity of 8 800 mAh and charging of 100 W via cable and 80 W wirelessly. Vivo charges at 90 W via cable and 40 W wirelessly, and OPPO charges at 80 W via cable and 50 W wirelessly. When it comes to battery life and charging speed, Honor clearly wins.

With OPPO, you should note that the European version of Find X10 Pro Max has a smaller battery of 7 150 mAh and is sold only with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage for €1,879, as we wrote in our review, while the Chinese version has a full 8 000 mAh.
eSIM, Slovak language, and other differences between Chinese versions
Here’s one of the biggest differences. Honor and vivo both include built-in eSIM in the Chinese version, supporting up to two eSIM numbers, and both also support Android Auto—something we covered in a separate article about eSIM in the Chinese versions. The Chinese version of OPPO Find X10 Pro Max does not support eSIM, so if you want to use it, you’ll be limited to a physical SIM or an adapter. The solution is the global version, which supports eSIM and also has 16 GB RAM and Google services. You can find the details in the article about the global version of OPPO Find X10 Pro Max.
Overview of eSIM and Android Auto support in Chinese versions
As for the language, we found that Honor Magic9 Pro Max in the Chinese version includes Slovak, while OPPO offers Slovak in the settings, but according to our tester, only part of the system is translated and the result is inconsistent. Vivo has an English-based system, and Slovak can be installed using our guide. In any case, before activating an eSIM, check support with your carrier, because we haven’t tested it yet.
Which Chinese flagship should you buy for similar money
You can find all three phones on GShopper in the Chinese version, and the price with a coupon for each memory configuration is shown in the boxes below. With the version featuring 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, Honor costs less than OPPO and vivo, so it’s the best deal out of the three.
The same ranking applies for the higher configurations you see in the table at the start. With 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage, Honor is 1 266 €, OPPO is 1 397 €, and vivo is 1 479 €. vivo is the only one that also offers the combination of 12 GB RAM with 1 TB storage for 1 397 €.

Chinese or European version: How much can you save
If you’re considering the official European version, expect a higher price and—in two out of three phones—a smaller battery as well. OPPO Find X10 Pro Max is sold in Europe starting 21 October, but only with 12 GB RAM and 512 GB storage, and with a battery reduced to 7 150 mAh. Its regular price is €1,879, and in the initial promotion on Alza it was €1,629, as we wrote in the article about Slovak prices. The Chinese version with the same memory costs 1 150 € and has a full 8 000 mAh.
vivo introduced the X500 Pro Max in Europe on 27 October. In vivo’s official German e-shop, the 12 + 256 GB version costs €1,599, the 12 + 512 GB version costs €1,799, and the 12 GB + 1 TB version costs €2,199. According to the Android Pure portal, the European version has a battery with a typical capacity of 6 750 mAh instead of 8 000 mAh. You can buy the Chinese 12 + 512 GB version for 1 208 €.
Honor Magic9 Pro Max will come to Europe in January 2027. So far, only with 12 GB RAM and 256 or 512 GB storage—and Honor hasn’t revealed the prices yet. Its predecessor, the Magic8 Pro, cost €1,299 in Europe for the 12 + 512 GB version, and it had a battery of only 6,270 mAh, so it’s not certain that the European Magic9 Pro Max will keep 8,800 mAh. We’ve covered more in the article about Honor’s European launch.
For the Chinese version, you’ll pay hundreds of euros less and get a bigger battery. On the other hand, expect longer delivery times and warranty coverage via the seller, while the European unit from a Slovak store has a standard warranty and service in Slovakia.
Final verdict: which one to choose
Oppo Find X10 Pro Max
Source: honor.com
Vivo X500 Pro and Pro Max · Source: vivo.com
Honor Magic9 Pro Max is, in our opinion, the best buy for most people. In the Chinese version it’s the cheapest, it has the biggest battery, the fastest charging, the best durability, eSIM plus Slovak language support in the system, and for video creators it offers ARRI. OPPO Find X10 Pro Max is for you if you want three 200 Mpx camera modules and Hasselblad—but note that the Chinese version doesn’t have eSIM and Slovak is only partially available. vivo X500 Pro Max fits best if the display matters most to you, because it has the sharpest 2K panel with 144 Hz, and it comes with a stabilized selfie camera.
Who it’s for
Longest battery life and fastest charging: Honor Magic9 Pro Max with an 8,800 mAh battery and 100 W charging.
Detailed photos with every lens and macro: OPPO Find X10 Pro Max with three 200 Mpx cameras.
Portraits and distant objects: Honor or vivo with an 85 mm periscope. With a teleconverter, Honor can go up to 500 mm.
Video without edits: Honor with ARRI Looks and a directional microphone.
Slow-motion video and post-production: vivo with 4K at 240 fps and 10-bit 4:2:2 recording, or OPPO with O-Log2 and the Open Gate mode.
Sharpest display and selfie: vivo X500 Pro Max with a 2K panel and a stabilized front camera.
eSIM and Slovak language built right into the system: Honor Magic9 Pro Max.
If you mainly shoot up close and in everyday conditions, you won’t notice the differences between these three phones — so it makes sense to decide based on battery, eSIM, and price. None of them is worth buying if you need an official warranty in Europe and don’t want to deal with the Chinese version.
