OnePlus is getting ready to expand its smartphone portfolio with a new model called OnePlus 13T. Although the official unveiling will take place only on April 24, 2025, the manufacturer has already revealed a few interesting details. And it looks like we’re in for a compact phone with specs we’d expect more from the heavyweight category.
Compact dimensions confirmed
The main highlight of the news is the compact body. OnePlus 13T is only 71.7 mm wide, which is significantly less than the OnePlus 13 flagships (76.5 mm) or the OnePlus 13R (75.8 mm). That puts it among the smallest high-end smartphones, alongside models like the Vivo X200 Pro mini or the Oppo Find X8s. Even the Galaxy S25, with its 70.5 mm width, won’t have as much standout space in this category.
Despite the small dimensions, the phone doesn’t feel like a lightweight variant at all. The manufacturer has managed to fit a 6.32-inch display and a massive battery with up to 6260 mAh capacity into the body, weighing 185 grams. That’s more than the larger OnePlus 13 or 13R models, which have “only” 6000 mAh cells. What’s more, the phone’s body is said to be weight-balanced at a 50:50 ratio, which should ensure a comfortable grip and even distribution of weight.
A big battery with charging bypass functionality
A battery this large is truly rare these days, especially in compact phones. OnePlus 13T will also boast a practical charging bypass feature. This lets you power the phone directly from the charger without unnecessary battery overheating — an ideal solution, for example, when gaming. The phone can run from the power source while the battery stays protected from needless wear.
OnePlus 13T will also come with a powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, making it a full-fledged competitor in the flagship class. According to official info, its main camera will use the Sony IMX906 sensor with a 50 MP resolution, and there will also be a 2x telephoto lens offering up to 4x lossless zoom — most likely with a 50 MP sensor as well.
Premium design and MagSafe accessories
Even though it’s a compact model, OnePlus 13T won’t hold back on premium features. The body is rated IP65, ensuring protection against dust and water splashes. In addition, OnePlus confirmed that for the 13T model it’s preparing at least two official cases that will support MagSafe accessories — meaning magnetic attachment of add-ons known from Apple’s ecosystem.
More details indicate that the phone will also include a dedicated gaming chip that will optimize performance in demanding games. This chip should enable smoother gameplay while also minimizing overheating.
OnePlus 13T: Compact, but fully packed
OnePlus 13T currently looks like one of the most interesting smartphones of the year, at least for fans of smaller phones. Thanks to an ultra-compact width under 72 mm, and yet a generously large battery, it should become one of the unique pieces on the market. If OnePlus manages to keep the price reasonable, we can expect strong interest — at least in China, where the phone will be available first. All that’s left is to hope it will reach the global market soon.
