Everyone is eagerly waiting for the new OnePlus 9 smartphone series. At least two smartphones will be unveiled, and it will happen on March 23. We should also get to know the new OnePlus Watch smartwatches.
Hasselblad is the topic 1
Let’s now take a look at what the new series brings. A lot of specs have already been revealed, so let’s summarize them. In recent days, the most talked-about has been the connection between OnePlus and the world-famous company Hasselblad, with which it collaborates on its cameras. The news wants to belong among the smartphone photography elite.
The companies focused mainly on developing color calibration, which should be more natural. The partnership was signed for 3 years, and OnePlus will gradually invest $150 million in the research. The base OnePlus 9 will most likely come with a plastic back. Lately, that’s nothing unusual—other manufacturers are also heading in the same direction.
The information hasn’t been confirmed yet, but in photos of this model, no antennas are visible, so it looks like it will have a plastic back. Let’s wait and see.
OnePlus 9 Pro
The Pro version will have 4 lenses on the back—the main one will have a resolution of 48 megapixels and will use the Sony IMX789 sensor. The ultra-wide lens will offer high 40-megapixel resolution and a 140-degree field of view. A telephoto lens with an as-yet-unknown zoom will be 8 megapixels, and the last one in the quad is a macro sensor with a 5 Mpix resolution.
A 5 nm processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 will handle performance, paired with 12 GB RAM. The display will feature a 6.7″, QHD+ resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. You’ll charge the 4500 mAh battery quickly thanks to 65 W charging power.
Support for 5G networks, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 will be a given. The device will run on Android 11, enhanced with OxygenOS 11. Fast UFS 3.1 storage will come with 512 GB. Whether it will support expandable memory cards is something we don’t know yet.
OnePlus 9
The cheaper new model will come with slightly weaker specs, but the key thing—performance—stays the same. That’s why Snapdragon 888 won’t be missing. The powerful processor will be paired with 8 GB RAM and UFS 3.1 storage with 128 GB capacity. As with the Pro version, we also don’t know yet whether it will support memory cards.
Photo equipment on the back will lose a telephoto lens. The main sensor will get a resolution of 48 Mpix, and the ultra-wide-angle will be either a 16-megapixel or 50-megapixel one. The 2-megapixel macro lens will classically be reduced to just the count.
The display will be 6.55″ with an FHD+ resolution. It will be an AMOLED panel that won’t be curved. You can also rely on a 120 Hz refresh rate. Again, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.2 are included.
Just like the more expensive sibling, OnePlus 9 will run on Android 11 with the OxygenOS 11 overlay.
Specs haven’t been confirmed yet
Just keep in mind that the information you’ve just read hasn’t been confirmed 100%. We’ll only have certainty after the official presentation, but you can assume the specs won’t change much. The price of the new products should start at 799 USD. We don’t dare to guess Slovak prices.
The manufacturer should also unveil two more models, OnePlus 9R/9E, which will be intended exclusively for the domestic Chinese market.
