Quick summary

  • New Huawei Starlight sub-brand (Xingmang)
  • First phone: a wide candybar with a 6,39″ display
  • Chip Kirin 9, up to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB
  • The presentation is reportedly already in November

According to a new leak, Huawei is preparing another sub-brand called Starlight, known in China as Xingmang, and its first phone should be a wide model in the classic form factor without a foldable hinge. The information was brought by the well-known leaker Digital Chat Station, who posted it on the Chinese network Weibo, so for now it’s an unofficial leak that Huawei hasn’t confirmed.

The GSMArena website points out that the name Starlight is only an English translation of the Chinese brand name, so it may not be the name Huawei ultimately uses when launching it outside China.

Wide candybar with a Kirin 9 chipset

According to the leaker, the first Starlight phone will get a 6,39-inch display in an unusually wide aspect ratio and will have a classic candybar body without a hinge. The Kirin chip from the 9000 series will handle performance, with the test sample expected to come with the highest possible specs: 16 GB of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

Huawei Pura X (starší model)

Huawei has already tested a wide design with the Pura X model—whose photo you can see above (it’s an older phone, not Starlight). According to the leak, the new phone should have a similarly wide shape, but with a Kirin 9000 series chip and significantly more memory.

The leak contradicts older reports

Earlier reports said the Starlight sub-brand was targeting the mid-range: it was supposed to have Kirin 8 chips, run on HarmonyOS, and keep the XMAGE display technology. A Kirin from the 9000 series wouldn’t fit that mid-range segment, so one of these pieces of information is likely inaccurate—or Huawei is preparing multiple models with different configurations.

In comments under the post, Chinese prices also appeared: 2 999 yuan (roughly 360 €) for the 256 GB version and 3 999 yuan (roughly 480 €) for the terabyte model. However, nobody confirmed them—these are just readers’ guesses, so take them with a big grain of salt.

When will we see it and will it come to us?

The presentation is expected next month, i.e., in November 2026, and that’s when we’ll find out whether the leak checks out. Whether Starlight will also reach the European market—nobody has said that yet, and since this is a China sub-brand, in Slovakia you can assume it will be imported from China via Chinese shops.
