Premium display with excellent readability
One of the main advantages of the Nord 5 is its AMOLED display. With a 6.83″ diagonal and a resolution of 2800 × 1272 px, it’s among the best panels in its class. The screen supports a refresh rate of up to 144 Hz and a response time of up to 3000 Hz, making it ideal for gaming and smooth content scrolling. It also includes HDR, 10-bit colors, and brightness up to 1800 nits.
You’ll also like the Sun-amp technology for better readability in sunlight, plus PWM dimming at a frequency of 3840 Hz. On top of that, the display is protected by the exclusive Gorilla Glass 7i glass, created in collaboration between OnePlus and Corning.
Performance under control: Snapdragon 8s Gen 3
The Nord 5 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, which—together with up to 12 GB of RAM and storage up to 512 GB UFS 3.1—delivers performance comparable to flagship devices. The phone is ideal for gamers and demanding users thanks to the excellent optimization of OxygenOS 15 built on Android 15.
The device features efficient cooling with an area of up to 32 207 mm² and offers a charging bypass function. It also supports 5G (SA/NSA), Wi‑Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC.
50 MPx main sensor with OIS and 4K video
The rear camera is built around a Sony LYT-700 sensor with optical stabilization, f/1.8 aperture, and support for HDR algorithms. There’s also a 8 MP ultra-wide sensor with a 116° field of view. The camera records video in 4K at 60 fps, offering both EIS and OIS stabilization, plus a wide range of modes, including Pro mode, panorama, and night mode.
You’ll also get a 0.6x to 20x digital zoom and slow motion up to 240 fps. The resulting photos deliver great detail and accurate color even in lower light.
50 MPx selfie camera with 4K video
The front camera is among the best in the mid-range. A 50 MP Samsung JN5 sensor with a f/2.0 aperture, a 90° field of view, and autofocus support was used. It records video in 4K/60 fps, with EIS stabilization and advanced algorithms for smoother skin tones and face recognition.
Portrait, panorama, dual video, or night selfie modes are also supported. The selfie camera is made for content creators, vloggers, and everyday video calls in top-notch quality.
Day-long battery life and 80 W charging
A slight disappointment is the battery, which has a smaller capacity for the European market: 5200 mAh, whereas the version made for the Indian market reaches up to 6800 mAh. Fast charging 80 W SUPERVOOC support is included, along with charging bypass, reverse charging (5 W), and a battery protection feature. Thanks to system optimization and a modern chip, you can count on all-day battery life even with demanding use.
Charging happens via a USB-C port, and despite the lack of wireless charging, going from 0 to 100% takes about 35–40 minutes.
OxygenOS 15: a clean and fast system
The OxygenOS 15 system delivers a clean environment without clutter, snappy animations, and advanced customization options. OnePlus puts emphasis on privacy and security, adds advanced permission management, Always-On Display, and performance optimized to your habits. With the promise of long-term support, Nord 5 is also a great choice for the future.
The phone also received a TÜV SÜD certification for 72 months of smooth use, highlighting its long-term reliability.
