There’s been speculation for a long time that OnePlus would release its watches in a special edition dedicated to the game Cyberpunk 2077. This edition will be available only to residents of China and was officially unveiled.
Cyberpunk 2077
At the end of March, the Chinese company OnePlus released its first smartwatches, simply called OnePlus Watch. Now, a special variant inspired by the game Cyberpunk 2077 is also available. These watches don’t differ in specifications; the differences are visible only in a slightly adjusted design and the price.
This isn’t the first OnePlus product inspired by this game. The company previously revealed the OnePlus 8T smartphone, which also came out in this special edition. However, the watch release was delayed for unknown reasons.
The watch body and the strap both feature integrated yellow tones, since yellow is a typical color for this game. The strap is silicone with a subtle inscription with the game’s name.
This watch edition also brings special game-inspired watch faces, as well as a boot mode. What’s unusual is that it mentions the Android operating system, even though we know the watches run on their own operating system.
Another highlight is a stand included in the package, which also serves as a charger for the watch. This stand is shaped like a hand and is inspired by the character Johnny Silverhand, played in the game by the popular actor Keanu Reeves.
Price and availability
This edition will be available for purchase starting June 1 at 12:00 local China time. Yes, OnePlus has decided to sell this edition only in the Chinese market, so we’ll just have to wait to get our hands on it.
The price of the OnePlus Watch Cyberpunk Edition should be around 1,299 yuan, which is roughly €165. For reminder, the base version of the watch is sold for €159.
It seems this edition is really targeted at die-hard Cyberpunk 2077 fans. The game was a huge success, but it hasn’t been without issues—especially due to poor optimization on older gaming consoles.
