Even though this is only a concept for now, it’s still interesting to watch how quickly the technology is progressing. The more similar experiments appear, the sooner real, modern devices—like the one shown here—will make everyday life easier for us.
Launch is coming soon
Tomorrow, November 17, 2020, OPPO will officially present its rollable smartphone concept at its popular developer conference, OPPO INNO Day 2020. The company is teasing the reveal with eye-catching posters.

This poster was shared via the Chinese portal Weibo, where hints were also written alongside the poster in the form of “A big screen? A small screen? An endless screen? In the future, your mobile phone could freely slide out “.
With these words and the photo on the poster, the manufacturer is most likely preparing us for the release of a smartphone whose front display panel will consist of a rollable display.

We’re already very excited about how this whole rollable-display smartphone will work. As we mentioned earlier in the article, though, this is currently just a concept—and it’s still not known when the device will be available to the global market.
What do you think of this interesting move? Do you see a real use for the option to slide out the display? How would you use this feature? Feel free to share your thoughts and opinions in the discussion below the article—we’d love to read your take.
