It’s time when smartphone makers start unveiling their 2021 flagship models. The first was, surprisingly, Xiaomi, which unveiled its Mi 11 back at the end of last year. We’ll see the global version on Monday. In January, we got to see new Samsung smartphones, and in February the Realme Race flagship phone will be unveiled.
Realme Race with a powerful Snapdragon 888
Realme was one of the first companies to announce that its new flagship would be powered by Qualcomm’s most powerful processor, the Snadragonom 888, already in the first quarter of 2021. The brand’s new TOP model received the code name Race and will come with this exact processor.
Realme Race will be unveiled after the Chinese Spring Festival (Chinese New Year), which will take place on 12 February. We don’t know the device’s final name yet. Besides the ultra-powerful processor, the new model should also get a large amount of RAM with a capacity of 12 GB.
Android 11 and the Realme UI 2.0 custom interface
In addition, there will be 256 or 512 GB of storage, and the operating system will be the latest Android 11. The manufacturer will enhance it further with its own Realme UI 2.0 software layer. It’s said that the device will come in two versions – Vanilla and Pro.
The Pro model will get the aforementioned 12 GB of RAM. You can also look forward to a top-of-the-line display with a diagonal of 6.8″. It will be an OLED panel with a crisp Quad HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of up to 160 Hz.
Ultra-fast charging and a 5000 mAh battery
The smartphone will also impress with other specs. Realme is a manufacturer known for the fact that its phones can charge extremely fast. The new model will only confirm those words. It will come with wired charging with a maximum power of 125 W. Thanks to this, its 5000 mAh battery will charge from 0 to 100% in just a few minutes. How this extreme power will affect battery lifespan remains to be seen.
Realme Race: Photo setup with question marks
Not much is known yet about the camera setup. The main sensor should have a resolution of 64 megapixels, and it should be paired with two 13-megapixel lenses. One of them will likely be an ultra-wide sensor; the other could be a telephoto lens, or possibly a periscope lens.
