Realme started this year with the presentation of the Realme X50 5G and its improved model in the form of the Realme X50 Pro 5G. It debuted in February, followed by the X50m 5G in April, and then the X50 Pro Player Edition in May. Since then, the company has not released any other smartphones. Today, however, at a conference, the company unveiled a new Realme V5 5G, which is also the first model in the new V series of smartphones.
Beautiful display and 4 cameras
The new Realme V5 5G features a 6.5″ Full HD+ IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and an aspect ratio of 20:9. The display also offers a 90 Hz refresh rate and a 180 Hz sampling rate. The front of the smartphone is covered by up to 90.7% display, which is also protected by a Gorilla Glass 5 protective panel.
In the top-left corner there’s a selfie camera that offers a resolution of 16 MPx and an aperture of f/2.0. The selfie camera also comes with features such as HDR, background blur, panorama, face beautification, shutter gestures, time-lapse, or Full HD video at 30 frames per second.
On the back of the Realme V5 5G there are as many as 4 cameras. Realme used a rectangular camera module in its smartphone for the first time—one we’ve already been able to see with Honor X10. There’s a main 48 MPx camera with an aperture of f/1.8, a wide-angle lens with an aperture of f/2.3 and a field of view of up to 119 degrees, a macro lens with a resolution of 2 MPx and an aperture of f/2.3, and lastly there’s a 2 MPx depth-of-field sensor with an aperture of f/2.4.
The four cameras provide Realme V5 5G features such as, for example, a super night scene mode, panorama, a time-lapse mode, a bokeh effect, HDR, video recording in an ultra-wide 119-degree angle, UIS / UIS Max video recording at 120 frames per second, slow-motion Full HD video, and even recording 4K video at 30 frames per second.
Fast 30 W charging and 5 000 mAh battery
Realme also has a huge battery with a capacity of up to 5 000 mAh, with fast 30 W SuperDart charging included. Realme claims that a full charge of the smartphone using the SuperDart technology takes just 65 minutes. The smartphone can also be used to charge other devices via the reverse charging feature. Even though it houses a large 5 000 mAh battery, Realme weighs only 194 g.
The Dimensity 720 processor from MediaTek with a dual 5G mode, together with 8 GB of RAM of the LPDDR4x type and 128 GB of storage of the UFS 2.1 type, provides enough power for everything.
V5 5G comes with the Android 10 operating system along with the Realme UI interface. The smartphone also offers rich connectivity, where you can’t miss the dual SIM card slot, 5G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, USB-C, and a 3.5 mm audio connector.
Other available features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a microSD card slot, and a speaker with Hi-Res sound support.
