+Rack, fenders, and rear light included in the box
Cons
–Weaker 17 Ah battery, noname cells
–Basic and weak rear shock
The market for Chinese mountain e-bikes is full of—especially for us—unusual models with small frames and chunky tires. Asian riders simply seem to like them more, but we really love the mountain classics that the Randride YG90 represents.
It has more traditional 27,5 x 2,4″ tires, decent motor performance, better hydraulic brakes, and a really nice look—helped by the built-in battery in the lower frame. In this review, we’ll evaluate the bike and tell you whether it’s worth it.

Rich accessory package
Randride YG90 arrived in a 33-kilogram box, packed the same way as other Chinese manufacturers. What’s extra for this brand, though, is additional accessories for the bike—specifically a helmet, goggles, a lock, a pump, a frame bag, a universal key, and a set of Allen keys.
However, the quality of these cycling accessories is very low, since they are the cheapest possible products. We’d give this helmet to a very small child at most, but the pump is a fairly practical helper. The bike bag can basically not be mounted to the frame properly or securely.
The bike also comes with the rear rack/holder for a basket already installed. The downside is that if someone wants to take it off or remount it, they’ll need to figure out some other mounting for the rear light, which is hardwired to the frame and attached to the rack.
For some cyclists, the presence of both front and rear metal fenders could be good news, but in our opinion they spoiled the overall look of the bike—so we didn’t install them. Still, it’s great that the manufacturer added this to the bike’s equipment.
Turning the bike on for the first time
With brands like Engwe or Lankeleisi, we’re used to assembling the bike, tightening things with a key, and turning on the display. With this Randride, though, it didn’t work right away because the manufacturer hid the power button in the bottom frame wall. You need to press it, and then the bike works.
The manufacturer used a large color display marked M6C, which looks awesome. It shows everything you need clearly, and it’s also easy to see in sunlight.
Beautiful look with the built-in battery
The first thing you notice on this electric bike is its tasteful appearance and the solution with the built-in battery in the frame. There’s no ugly battery box with cells on the frame tube—so the bike looks clean and uniform.
We have to praise the manufacturer for the frame build quality, because when riding it, we felt like we had a very solid construction. We didn’t have to tighten any screws specifically—this is how it came straight from the factory. We also didn’t notice any rattling from the front fork or the frame.
The bike weighs 24 kg, the manufacturer lists a load capacity of 120 kg, and it’s suitable for riders from 155 – 190 cm. At a height of 190 cm, though, we’d already consider upgrading to wider handlebars.
27.5″ tires and hydraulic brakes
Randride YG90 comes fitted with CST tires in sizes 27.5 x 2.4 inches, rounding out the lineup of classic mountain e-bikes. From China, we’re used more to “fat bikes” with thick 4-inch tires, so for that, we’ll give Randride plus points. The tires also hold well when descending rough terrain, so for us that’s a positive.
The bike comes with 2-piston hydraulic brakes Shimano MT200 with 160 mm rotors, which we consider a big plus—because most cheaper Chinese bikes still use only mechanical brakes. Those aren’t necessarily bad, but hydraulic is definitely better.
The manufacturer lists a 1000 W motor
The manufacturer and sellers also state that the Randride YG90 has a 1000 W motor with no branding, so it’s basically no-name China—or something made directly for them at the factory. This was visible in a real comparison with the Lankeleisi RV800 Plus that we test. That one has a 750 W Bafang motor, so at nominal power it’s slightly weaker, but on the flat stretch behind it, Randride couldn’t keep up at all. Here you can see the difference between a branded and a no-name motor.
Despite this, the bike is quite lively and can reach 40 km/h without major issues. The bike’s performance is also influenced by the controller used, and in this case there may be something a bit weaker.
Weak rear suspension, average front
Of course, at the Randride YG90 price range, you can’t expect an air-suspension front fork or a rear air shock. Up front, there’s a fairly average fork with adjustable suspension—it won’t surprise you, but it also won’t disappoint. At the back, you get a basic Chinese shock, and with a live weight of 85 kg and up, we’d definitely recommend replacing it with an air one that you can find for a good price on AliExpress.
For example, this shock is also used in the TOP Chinese e-bike Lankeleisi RV800 Plus. However, when riding rough terrain, you can clearly feel that the bike is fully suspended and tries to smooth out bumps—something we were convinced of after a quick ride over a grassy embankment.
Range on a single charge and the battery
The Randride YG90 mountain bike comes with a Chinese no-name battery cell with a capacity of 17 Ah (816 Wh), which isn’t the absolute worst, but let’s be honest—it could have been better. You need to factor this in when it comes to the overall range on a purely electric drive. The battery is removable—although it may be a bit stiff at first to take out, you can remove it by lifting it out from the lower edge.
We decided to test the Randride on proper forest terrain combined with regular asphalt. We chose a hilly route with a total climb of 413 meters and set the speed mode to 3 from 5, trying to pedal actively as well, since we’re definitely not retired folks.
We covered a total of 38.31 km and still had 3 battery bars left, which could cover maybe another 4 – 5 kilometers. We rode 2 kilometers at the start for the initial photos, so the overall range with assistance can be rounded to 45 kilometers. The test rider weighed 80 kg and was 180 cm tall.
If you spend a bit of time with Chinese bikes, you know you should take the ranges listed by the manufacturers with a grain of salt. Sellers quote 40 km purely in electric mode and 70 – 90 km with pedal assistance, which isn’t realistic. Charging will take 7 – 9 hours with the included 2 A charger, and the bike is built on a 48 V system.
21 Chainring Shimano
The manufacturer chose to use the basic Shimano Tourney TZ derailleurs with 21 speeds (3 front, 7 rear), which we expected at this price point as well. It’s nothing fancy—on the handlebars, you’ll find rather impractical shifters; it’s simply an entry-level setup.
If you want to be able to pedal while riding and not just let it carry you, you can do that on the third speed mode. There, the motor kicks in up to the maximum speed of the mode, but then it lets you pedal on your own. That’s how we tested our route for range. In the fourth speed mode, the bike is faster and pedaling there is basically completely unnecessary—everything is handled by the motor.
Final verdict: Randride YG90
At a price of 90 €, the Randride YG1000 wants to bring enthusiasts of classic mountain biking a lively ride thanks to a fairly powerful motor, better hydraulic brakes, and a really nice look with a built-in battery in the frame. And we have to say we pulled it off really well.
You’ll be pleased with the front-and-rear suspension, a clear and good-looking display, plus—like we mentioned—Shimano hydraulic brakes you can rely on during fast descents, as well as a peppy motor with the manufacturer-stated 1000 watts.
Of course, a demanding user will find a few drawbacks, but at this price category you have to expect some cheaper components. Compared to competition from local Slovak sellers, it’s clearly one of the best mountain bikes for 1000 € right now.
