Smartphones Google Pixel from the eighth generation offer 7 years of support for the Android operating system version. The US giant has set a new potential standard for other manufacturers, especially when it comes to flagship models. Samsung reacted quite quickly and offered 7 years of updates even for its top models. Now it’s bringing this support to the mid-priced category as well, starting with this device.
Samsung goes head-to-head with the Pixels even in the mid-range
Long-term support Google also provides for its more affordable Google Pixel 8a. This is a very tempting offer, especially for those who want to keep their budget-friendly device for as long as possible and don’t like spending money on a new phone.
Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is a mid-range smartphone that the South Korean company will update for such a long time. The new model was unveiled alongside the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra tablets.
The new smartphone shares a lot of features with the previous generation, Samsung Galaxy S23 FE. For example, the 1080p 120 Hz AMOLED display, 25 W wired and 15 W wireless charging. It, by the way, will receive “only” four major Android updates.
Compared to its predecessor, the new model has a screen that’s 0.3 inches larger (6.7-inch diagonal), a Exynos 2400e chipset, 8 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of internal storage.
The primary camera has a resolution of 50 MPx and an aperture of f/1.8. There’s also a 12 MPx ultra-wide-angle camera and an 8 MPx telephoto lens. On the front, you’ll find a 10 MPx “selfie” camera.
The battery capacity is 4700 mAh. With the new Galaxy S24 FE, you can expect up to Android 21 in the future, along with One UI 13. Currently, it comes with Android 14 and One UI 6.1.
