Quick summary

  • Vivo officially confirmed the T5 5G model and its launch on September 2 in India.
  • The phone has a 7,050 mAh battery in a body that's about 7.9 mm thick.
  • The display is a 1.5K curved AMOLED with 144 Hz and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits.
  • Inside, there’s a MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo with a claimed score of 1.2 million points on AnTuTu.
  • The system will be OriginOS 6 built on Android 16.

Batteries with a capacity of over seven thousand milliampere-hours are showing up more and more often in Chinese phones, but usually at the cost of a bulky, heavy body. Vivo T5 5G according to official teasers combines 7 050 mAh with a thickness of about 7.9 mm. Such a combo is often hard to find.

Battery 7 050 mAh in a slim body

Vivo itself emphasizes that this is one of the thinnest phones in its class with a battery over 7 000 mAh. It’s not a coincidence or a miracle. These are silicon-carbon cells that store noticeably more energy in the same volume than standard lithium-ion batteries. Chinese manufacturers are rolling them out faster than anyone else—and that’s where it shows most clearly.

So far, Vivo hasn’t specified charging speed. A related model, the iQOO Z11, which shares the T5 5G’s design and basic hardware, uses 44W wired charging. With a battery this large, that would mean fairly long charging times, so it’s one of the figures we’ll have to wait for.

A curved AMOLED with 144 Hz and 2 000 nits

The display is a 3D curved AMOLED with a 1.5K resolution, a refresh rate up to 144 Hz, and peak brightness of 2,000 nits in HBM mode. The diagonal is set at 6.83″. Up front, there’s the standard cutout for the selfie camera. Vivo calls the panel the brightest in its class and highlights HDR10+ and SGS certifications.

What’s interesting is that 144 Hz rarely shows up in the mid-range—most competitors top out at 120 Hz. The difference isn’t dramatic, but in games and fast scrolling it’s noticeable. The information was summarized by Notebookcheck.

Dimensity 7500 Turbo and OriginOS 6

Performance is handled by the MediaTek Dimensity 7500 Turbo. Vivo lists a score of 1.2 million points in AnTuTu and also praises local runs of language models. In the three-billion-parameter model, the phone should manage about ten tokens per second. It’s the first phone from the brand with this chip.

The back uses a Skyline design similar to the Vivo S2, and the teasers show a pair of cameras. The main one should be a 50MPx Sony sensor. The phone will come in two colors, Royal Bronze and Silver Green, and it will be powered by OriginOS 6 based on Android 16. Vivo hasn’t revealed memory capacities yet.

When and where

The launch is scheduled for 2 September 2026 and the phone will be sold via Flipkart. For now, it’s focused on the Indian market. Vivo hasn’t commented on whether—or in what form—the model will reach Europe. Full camera specs, battery life, and charging speed should be announced right at the launch.
